Warriors Considering Brandon Ingram As Contingency Trade

Post#1 » by RealGM Wiretap » Tue Feb 4, 2025 4:51 pm

The Golden State Warriors have explored the possibility of trading for Brandon Ingram from the New Orleans Pelicans, sources tell The Stein Line. While Ingram didn't have a successful run playing under Steve Kerr during the 2023 World Cup for Team USA, he could be a good contingency option for the Warriors on his $36 million expiring contract.

The Warriors have also pursued a trade for Jimmy Butler, who has expressed an unwillingness to sign an extension with the team. Golden State has also explored trading for Kevin Durant from the Phoenix Suns.

Ingram and the Pelicans have been unable to agree to terms on a contract extension. The Pelicans have explored trading him since the offseason, but have been unable to find a workable deal. In the process, Ingram has changed his representation to Shayaun Saee, Mike George and Rich Paul of Klutch Sports.

Ingram has appeared in 18 games this season and is averaging 22.2 points, 5.6 rebounds and 5.2 assists in 33.1 minutes. Ingram is shooting 37.4 percent on a career high 6.4 three-point attempts per game.
