they are absorbing him into room MLE, they still have cap space 14 mil to use. the martin trade they wont make official until they use the 14 mil for something.

that being said fail on sixers part, they signed him to a baloon payment so they could use him to make a trade to improve the team, instead using 2nds to dump him.

I woke up groggy and checked my phone hoping for trades.

When the phone opened, it said Butler to GSW in a deal involving Raps with Brown and Boucher involved. I got excited...then realized I was on the trade section of the main boards and is was a poster proposal.

Excitement over

I’m more curious why people are excited about us getting second round picks as if we’re getting a superstar lol. If we keep these guys after the deadline you’ll probably just see them play a lot less.

It's just about the possibility of making good deals today...that help us in the future.

Not every deal needs to be a homerun. As a team trying to build up It's asset bases, a bunch of singles and doubles are important too

I agree with your general point though I do think 2nds are worth less to us today than last year. We’ll come into next year with Shead + Mogbo + Battle + Portland 2nd on the roster: that’s almost 1/3 of our roster. Chomche potentially joins them the following year. Whats tue ceiling of how many 2nd rounders you should have on among your 15 players? If we take 2nds, they probably need to be a few years out.

Yeah I was speaking more on some of those who get excited about us potentially getting something for our bench players and then bitch and moan that all we did was get bench player value back. It’s like people know we aren’t going to have much to trade but at the same time want a trade. And then if that trade is for say an Ingram type, they also don’t want that.

Masai has made some great small moves that those who don’t bitch and moan will get excited about - just not those always demanding trades

Yeah like I am fine with adding a few 2nds in 2027-30 which just keeps extra picks coming to try and keep the youth pipeline coming, or to use down the road.

And "maybe" you get a salary filler that you take a look at and might want to keep.

I am not expecting anything crazy and fully expect not all our guys will get moved as that rarely happens.
