I disagree with you, but even if you are correct, it does not move us to legit contender status.

This is a team that’s essentially devoid of BBall IQ. We just traded our smartest basketball player and the only guy who could ever get us organized for Kyle Kuzma.
Please reconsider your animal consumption.

Reading through the scenarios of Washington's second rounders in 2025 requires a law degree.

I have no clue what we just got but its probably a late 2nd.

There's going to be a point, in the likely not-too-distant future, where we're watching a 25-57 Bucks team get blown out in Orlando and we're reminiscing about the Giannis years and we're debating at what precise moment it all fell apart.

I fear that this trade is that moment.

I blame this on the Pat contract. I knew that was going to be bad for us but damn it really cost us a lot.

Our owners have spent far more than a small market could ever hope for. On this one issue I give them a pass.

Agreed. This was done in part to get under the second apron, which is important as it helps keep the '31 pick unfrozen and allows aggregation. I wish we had accomplished this a different way but this wasn't about saving money.
I'm against picketing but I don't know how to show it.

Prez wrote:Again, this is who we traded for:
- Wizards have a -21.0 net rating with Kuzma on the floor
- Literally the worst net rating on the Wizards roster among guys who've played 20+ games and 10+mpg for them
- 42% FG/28% 3PT/60% FT shooting splits
- 48.8% TS
- 10.7 PER, -5.6 BPM, -0.069 WS/48

And for that guy, we traded not only a dude whose jersey will be retired for the Bucks, a dude who was instrumental in us getting a title and been with Giannis for the entire build...but we also tossed in our 1st round pick who was the only prospect on the roster with a modicum of upside, AND a pick swap.

**** Jon Horst forever.

Kuzma is bad but I really wouldn't look at his stats from this season at all. He has not been even trying to play serious basketball. I don't know if he wanted to be traded or was just pissed to be playing with 3 19 year olds and a 20 year old, but he's just been walking down court and shooting turn around 3 air balls. No way he'll do that on a serious team.

Also look at how his contract his structured. It's declining -- he got paid up front and will only make 19M towards the end of his extension.

Wouldn't the Bud firing be the moment? It's been all downhill and chaos since then

Now I'm just waiting for us to do a package trade including the 2031 1st for a win now move that does not win us the title. I'm ready.

One thing no one has said: This opens up more space for Dame to be Dame and not give up usage to Khris. Now do Bobby and we can let Dame really cook.

My emotion and nostalgic side is sad to see Khris go.

My logical brain says Kuzma on the floor vs Khris in street clothes makes for a better team, now. People really aren't factoring this in enough when they say they'd rather see no move than this move. Begin to accept this reality and things become more clear.

The wild card is what we do with the added flexibility either now or in the offseason.

We better pray that the Bucks fans coping with "Kuzma was just dicking around in WAS, he'll try again on a team with hopes of winning" are right, because if not, this definitely is that moment. It very well could be that moment even if Kuzma flips a switch and plays better.

The NBA basically implementing a hard cap in the middle of this run also really screwed the Bucks. Who in a more just world would be lauded for their willingness to spend in a bottom-10 market but instead fell on the sword of the Warriors and Clippers who everyone despised.

Agreed with this. But if I had to point to a singular moment it was Kevin Love sliding under Giannis and Giannis hurting his back just a few minutes into the series. It all fell apart from there. I’m just glad we got one I can’t imagine if we hadn’t how depressing the ending of this era would be.
