Luka Doncic took the "high road" at his introductory press conference with the Los Angeles Lakers when asked about the Dallas Mavericks, but he reportedly is highly upset with his former franchise for their decision to trade him. Upon his exit, the Mavericks spoke fairly openly about doubting Doncic's conditioning and ability to stay healthy to maintain his MVP caliber play over the long-term.
"He betrayed nothing [on Tuesday] , but from what I understand, he's seething at them," said Brian Windhorst on Pardon The Interruption. "And their fan base is seething at their team in a way that I've rarely seen before."
The Mavericks could have offered Doncic a five-year, $345 million supermax contract this offseason, which by all accounts he was prepared to sign.
Doncic's father, Sasa Doncic, spoke at length on Slovenian television about his displeasure over how his son was traded by the Mavericks.
