You're the same guy that didn't want Dame and posted all those long posts about how Dame would decline so soon dude to age and size etc. Here we are 2 years later and Dame is still playing at an elite level.

And where are the Bucks? Haven’t seen them excel with the Dame trade. See, the problem is that I don’t advocate with only the player or micro situation in mind. I advocate looking at the whole picture… assets, players, current effects, and future effects… but of course you only focus on the micro details.

Per this board, we should have traded Herro, Jaime, Jovic, Ware, and all the other picks from here to 2030… are we forgetting that? We are only 2 games back of Dame’s current team, and that is without our supposed 50million dollars best player playing. Again… how was I wrong not to “empty the cupboard” for Dame? How is that approach going for the Suns?

Data and evidence is on my side in this case… just saying Daffy.

Do the Bucks have the same set up as us and coaching? Were we getting Dame and no other moves to be made? Jaquez hasn't been what he was as a rookie. The only reason not making the trade looks good now is because of the step Herro has taken (I was one of the rare few on the board who believed in him) and luckily we hit hard on Ware so far which easily could've went the other way. We only had 2 picks to trade for Dame with the Ware pick being one of them. Jovic has been an okay rotational player at best lately. You're comparing the Bucks and Suns situation where their star fits aren't comparable to the needs we would have needed from Dame.

I think the Warriors are looking to get more draft assets to go along with Butler to pry KD away. They possibly could get some draft assets out of some of their younger players, then get the expiring's/decent players to send to Miami for Butler. Miami would probably end up with decent short term players and a couple of draft assets for Butler and contract savings, basically what they've been asking for.

Phoenix isn't trading Butler + an asset for KD, they're wanting as much as they can get for KD and GS is trying to give them that.

Where are all these great assets Golden State has to trade?

Gary Payton, Kuminga, Podz and most importantly they can trade 3 first round picks. And they have Wiggins who is a solid player and decent tradeable contract to match salary.

I think if you were to compare those to our assets that we are actually willing to trade, which I think is just about JJJ Butler 1 frp ... heck we don't even know if Riley is offering JJJ just cuz we think he should. So yea.

Feels like we are on the cusp of getting dicked by both the Warriors and Suns cutting us out and just dealing with each other. Suns will just end up keeping Wiggins and Kuminga.

You think we're trading Ware+ for 36 old KD to appease Jimmy charmin soft self after everything come now. These trades those two have been throwing out are just ridiculous.

If they were trading for KD to team up with Bulter, they BOTH would be signing an extension, so him saying 16 more months indicates he's not extending which also means KD isn't going to Miami.

I really don't see Pat and Micky changing direction at this point with Butler. There's been limited news about Miami's willingness to bring him back into the fold. Spo will do it because he just wants to win, but Butler imo has escalated this into an owners problem behind the scenes and Miami is the perfect org to make a stand against it. I'm not even usually pro corporate owners but you can't have grown men throwing temper tantrums and not showing up to work. You let Jimmy slide on it you end up in a situation where some power swings back to the players.

Jimmy just had to go hoop for 4-5 games pull a hammy and shut it down until we got him moved. - Jeff Teague basically said this on his pod and he's right.

JJJ does not meet the requirements. Would need to be Jovic, Burks, or J Rich.

Kuminga, Moody and Prodz, trade them for a player(probably older) and draft asset. I think you could possibly get 2 1sts out of that, at least 1 and some 2nds while getting players back too.

Moody's contract comes equipped with a Poison Pill. But yeah they do have multiple assets to trade regardless

Worth noting Kuminga is due to be paid ASAP and Podz (whom I've been a fan of since before the draft and believe is a legit player) is having a down season. A lot of parallels between Podz and Jaime in that regard.

I'm reluctant to get excited about a bidding war to ship off young talent for a KD rental for a post-Jimmy Miami tbh

I agree, but if Championships are what you're playing for...

On the fake injury, Mickey didn't want to pay Butler for staying at home and with Butler defined as a star, the NBA could come down on Butler and possibly the Heat if they did that.

I don’t want Durant. It’ll cost us youth and we’re in no position to win a ring with him.

You literally just supported my point that one must have a wholistic view when discussing these trades. You just described the complexity of making pieces fit, and roster building requires some level of flexibility, maneuverability, and foresight. This board was asking for the Heat to operate like the Suns did… throwing caution to the wind and empty the clip on this build.

We are strapped for the next year, but after that, we are out of the woods and have a very favorable future.

Significantly better prospect than Kuminga. It ain't close!!!

If Kuminga didn't play for the Warriors, nobody would even know who he was, and on 28 other teams he would considered a 'trash' asset (with the exception being LA).

I don't know how I feel about sending out Ware and Jovic for Durant. You have to remember, we are a .500 team right now, and more than half of the season is already over. Jimmy Butler already hasn't played with our team all that much, and now we'll be bringing in KD as well. There is not enough time for this roster to 'gel' and make a serious push this season, imo. That leaves only next year (2025-26) to win a championship. One injury to 37 YO Jimmy Butler or 36 YO KD and we are literal toast. All of the money is off the books for 26', yes, but we would literally have no youth to look forward to.

Hard pass.
