They both suck and should be traded but for the fact no one wants them.

Haven't given up on either of them. Way too young. Trade if it is a slam dunk, sure. Otherwise, just live with the growing pains.

People are really sleeping on what Jett could be doing if our guys hit him when he’s open. Tonight WCJ took a 20ft jumper with a defender in his face whilst Jett was standing wide open right next to him. The play before Franz took a contested 3 while Jett was wide open on the opposite elbow.

Total waste of his ability if our guys aren’t looking for him.

Jett shoots 32% from 3, he is not good from that perspective either. He really doesn’t do anything on the floor.

He shoots 35% on catch and shoot attempts and is the best active player on the Magic in catch and shoot attempts. Yet, as I mentioned in my post above, he was looked off when wide open for a catch and shoot in favour of a WCJ contested 20ft jumper and a Franz contested 3.

Can’t expect to get the best out of him if you’re choosing dumb ass shots like that over the statistically best option available in that moment.

Black is a horrible fit for this team, should have never been drafted here and I hope we can trade him while he still has some value. To think we just needed a few ping pong balls to go our way and we'd have had wemby or Brandon Miller but we got two guys who might be out of the league in a few years

Anthony Bunk and Junk Howard will go down in infamy

How could the Magic draft the same exact player as Fultz
And then they didn’t take Grady Dick because he was a goofball or something and so they took someone who still wets the bed and can’t make a layup

AB has been struggling. I’m as critical of our guys as anyone…but these dumps are getting ridiculous. There’s obviously a funk running through the whole team. He’s a disappointment for sure, but his ceiling may still be half as high as eyriq believes…which is still a capable rotation player.

Something’s in his head.

Jett Howard has a current PER of 8.6
He is shooting 37.6% with a 32.0% three ball
His assist and rebound numbers are both below 0.5 per game

And, he's a horrible defender.

The dude's a scrub and the Magic wasted this draft pick on him. His only value is to balance salary lines in a trade.

The only player worse on the roster is Houstan. Frankly I would rather see McClung than Howard.

And Fultz. And Hampton. And many others. We tend to keep players until they really have absolute zero (or negative) trade value.

But people here said he is Booker Lite and our "plan" to develop him in G-League was genious? :o

If any player on this team deserves a shot, it is McClung at the position needed most.

Who in their right mind would take into account stats in such low volume ? A lot of bad will and personal agenda in your post.
Sometimes i wonder if shooting guard who would make you happy is even born yet :P

At bare minimum it's an indicator that he is failing to capitalize on the opportunities he's given. He looked ok in the g-league and summer league, hasn't gotten many opportunities with the main club, and hasn't performed well when he has.

He was a poor prospect out of college with a late first round grade by most public scouts that inform the masses.

What's there to be excited about? If he's not in the rotation in two seasons he's a certified bust. Cole is under contract one more year and then Jett is up. If we acquire a bench guard on a multiyear contract, or extend Cole, Jett's path evaporates.

AB still has enough play making ability and defense to have an Ingles type of impact in his career at the minimum. His 3-ball went from better then expected to unable to shoot 3-ball drills.

I'm not sure what else to say guys. Just hope he snaps out of it because I think he is a better player then this. My biggest issue with AB in terms of scope is when I compare him to Suggs / Paolo / Franz it seems like we let them grow and AB may have outward pressure to contribute heavily to winning and in that way it means following orders or lack thereof.

Josh, not sure if you caught it, but that was eyriq burying Jett, not AB...but I could certainly understand the confusion because the story isn't much different.

Eyriq would NEVER wrote a bad thing about Black ;)
Howard is not a world beater by any mean but i think he has more potential on defense than Black on offense. He has size, ball handling and he already showed shooting glimpses.
Old, good Steve Clifford used to say skill players need consistent time to show consistent results.... damn miss his cold logic (not his hot yelling)
My money is on Banchero going number 1 !

Return to Orlando Magic
