Would you say you were wholly impressed by him tonight? Upset in anyway?

You could say he was perfect.

And...

I remain wholly unimpressed by Matas and would be very upset not only if we trade up fo him, but if we even draft him at 11

Its funny that despite going 10/10 in what is a meaningless game for the Bulls. Billy benched Matas for the last 5 minutes... To preserve the win? To preserve the 10 for 10? Either way Bulls need a new coach.

That was fun to watch. Matas looked like he had his head in the game and wanted to get things done.
From the basketball's perspective, travel is a nice pause from being pounded to the floor.

That second play where he brings the ball up and does a crossover pumpfake drive past Jovic is just basketball art, I've never seen that overhand gather move before. 8-)

inject this into my veins. I don't know what play is my favorite, probably the right to left scoop but that spin baseline when he got doubled was real nice as well. Kid was in his bag tonight. Along with the shot looking damn smooth and the 2 way play? Sky is the limit.

He also had a great drive and dunk that was waived off since he stepped out of bounds in the corner. I had the game muted and screamed before I realized it was a dead ball.

Bulls players standing out of bounds is a classic love story. :banghead:

Matas up to 37.6% from 3

Already proving the concerns about his long range shooting were very overblown. His stroke is smooth and pure. He is quickly showing he can be an extremely versatile all around modern day player.

His problem entering the season was his inconsistency of his jump/foot placement. That looks a bit better. His stroke is fine...it starts with the ball a little low, but is working.

He really is a hybrid of a 3/4 in todays league. He is in the lines of Tatum and Wagner.

I think he is going to give teams fits trying to match up with him going forward. I think the goal should be to get someone his size or bigger to play next to him.

I'd be happy if we could just get somebody good to play next to him. Seriously though, I think we roll with Giddey and Matas at the forward spots and try to use the guard sports on a first option scorer, paired with Ayo or Ball.

I really can envision Matas/Flagg, with PWill backing both up being SUPER dynamic.

But I want Matas to stay at the "3", not that it means much these days. Don't bulk him up and let him stay long/lean

He needs strength not a lot of bulk. I hope he pays to get the right fit for his body. Invest I yourself and you can get a supermax.

Last 6 games:

27.2 mpg
15.0 ppg (62.2% FG, 45.8% 3PT)
4.2 rpg, 1.2 apg
1.7 bpg, 0.5 spg

The 3PT percentage is probably not sustainable, but other than that if he keeps a similar level of production the rest of the way, that's on par with the best of his draft class. Him dropping to 11 was very lucky for the Bulls. A legit 2-way star potential. Knowing what we know now, he'd very likely go #2 overall in this years draft.
