The return of Thanasis must be imminent. We are going to aggregate salary for someone with our 2031 first, sign Rollins, and bring back Thanasis.

Question is whether or not he'd be willing to do that if he can't play on the team or even If he has interest in being a coach. I think he would be an excellent coach in time. Maybe he could be a player/coach. Another Bill Russell lol.

I recall Doc saying he had some Giannis at the 5 stuff but that it depended on Khris. So maybe thats more in play now with Kuzma

I can't see the Bucks trading Lopez unless we get another rim protector as a result.

Capela would be ok.

I'd go for Butler ONLY if we can get Ware. I'd give Lopez, BP, trash and the '31 pick.

They can have Pat and that 2nd we just got from Washington for Cody Martin. That's about it.

It shouldn’t cost much more. Worst case throw in the 2031 second.

Also noting Martin’s salary is non guaranteed for next season. So you see if he helps the D and is passable on O. If so, keep him around. If not, release him and create more salary space. Something that you can’t do with Oat since he is 100% picking up his player option for next year.

What if i told you if they let him go, there still is no cap space?

They are already on track to be below the first apron. The full NTPMLE would be nice.

Being able to clear 8M for a 2nd round pick is still good. Our new cap is essentially the 2nd apron. No, we cant sign anyone outright, except maybe tpmle, but it definitely helps.

Didnt Jrue get flipped right away?

He wasn't aggregated though.

Until the paperwork is submitted (maybe it has been, haven't checked in in a minute), the trade can be expanded. But I see no reason to believe that we didn't specifically target Kuzma (and his declining contract) with the intent to have him here long term.

Pending other trades, Brook and Bobby are off the books as well. As of now they’ll be below the tax this offseason and have paths to access the full MLE.

I absolutely agree. As I said earlier (or in another thread, I honestly have no idea), Kuzma cut his kicker to get the Bucks under the 2nd apron. They're not trading him.

so the full MLE would be left, nice. need to replace brook, midds, bobby, brook for the MLE. plus get younger and more athletic with teh assets they have.

You'd figure getting under the 2nd apron would be a prelude to other moves, that include getting an athletic big that can play the 5 (unlike Kuzma). But I didn't ever think they'd trade Khris (& more) for Kuzma, so I'm done predicting when they're not rational.

This move was an onus from ownership to save some money, nothing more. Don't expect any huge move to lessen the impact of how bad this one is.
