If that happens, in the offseason we will be saying "if only we had a highly efficient #2 scorer to pair with Matas" oops. Guess Billy should have found that out earlier.

Obviously another good reason for not trading Zach.I'd be happy with the same trade involving Vuc , our defense would improve immediately, addition by subtraction.

What bugs me is, we don't know if we needed to give Zach away for nothing or if he could have been the "old man" mentor on a competitive young team featuring Buz, Ayo, Smith. Because Billy never TRIED it. Buz may struggle like hell the rest of the season. Probably will being a rook. But had we seen a couple performances like last night it might change the perspective. I don't mean making every shot. I mean had we seen the moves he made last night, even if he missed a couple of them. He was DYNAMIC.

But it's water under the bridge. The chance of that dynamic pairing is gone. If Buz can really play at a level near this consistently we will be scrambling at next season's trade deadline trying to figure out who we can pair with him to take the first step; and likely have a very difficult time putting together a deal that brings that guy here.

Maybe we can trade for somebody like Zach Lavine.

Thats the one thing I will never truly understand. Zach’s contract will be a bargain for what he does on court. The simple way to regain our SA pick was simply tank this year, trade Vuc… let the youngs play their minutes with Zach.

When they were down 15 I thought this would get ugly. But apparently the Heat Culture didn't come out of the locker room at the half. It was a Bulls like performance, Hall and Robinson were hot in the 1st half and invisible in the 2nd. Bam was the opposite, I guess he noticed Vuc was guarding him. Herro must have thought he needed to look like an all star but those two shut out the rest.

Great to see Matas keep going once he caught fire, Giddey kept shooting and finally they went in.

In the 1st half the Bulls looked even smaller than they were. The 4 guard lineup can only get the job done done against certain opponents that's why I keep trying to trade guards for PF's so they have a chance against more teams.

The guys replacing him aren't better, but they are 2 way players and the ball movement is still there. Team is very dependent on Coby but when he scores they'll be about as competitive as they were before.

Decided to look up Coby and Zach's on/off combinations for the last 3 seasons. You may be right although we'll have to see what happens.

When Minnesota blows us out by 20 you will realize it was a post trade high.

The Kings won their first game without Fox is he trash to.
Most people here act like they have never watch a bump. They were emotional and most of the teams that made big trades actually won their next game.

I hope we start losing but 3 1/2 seasons of on/off numbers say that replacing Zach with Coby isn't a big downgrade.

You can all keep calling it a 4-guard lineup all day, but Giddey is 6'8" tall

I still like a few of our young guys as keepers for the rebuild. It was really fun seeing them operate with greater responsibility, and hopefully that increases even more with a Vuc trade by tomorrow.

And thank god 10 teams didn't want Matas.

Crawford wasn't a PG. The one everyone was enamored with was Shaun Livingston. But then he got that terrible injury and was never the same.

Yeah I never understood that. Lonzo is 6'7, Giddey is 6'8. Sure they both can handle the ball and make plays like a point guard, but they're far from your typical guard size which is usually 6'2 - 6'5.

Ayo and Coby are the guards, and they're both big guards at 6'5.

Tbh I still think that pwill looks like ass. He's barely even a JAG at this point.

Matas definitely has a swagger though. Kinda reminding me of a inferior shooting less stiff rookie Lauri. But matas has a positive wingspan so he can develop as a defender while Lauri was capped

I also loved how he continued playing the right way even though his shot was on and he was on fire. One of my biggest pet peeve with Lavine was as soon as he hit like 2 shots in a row he thought he had a green light to force shots which he would subsequently miss and fumble away the game.

I wish we had closed out with him instead of pat. Might have lost the game (tank win) but it would be good encouraging experience for him
