Yeah, but for multiple years now, expiring vet minimums have gone for just cash payments.

Agree. Probably due to new CBA and so few teams with space caused inflation with renting that space.

I may be misunderstanding, but there is also an aggregate cash incoming/cash outgoing annual limit for transactions so any cash received for this one would limit what you could take in other transactions.

$7,240,000 for both. Neither team has send/received cash this year. So unless Presti has a bunch of other deals lined up (he might?) the cash limit likely won't be reached this year.

Since the player involved is on a vet minimum deal, a team doesn’t have to burn cap space or an exception to absorb them. Any team in he league can take in a vet minimum via he veterans minimum exception, so long as there’s not a hard cap they have to avoid.

Psman also answered the cash question.

Theoretically, it could be like the inverse of Warriors trading CoJo to I do last year where really, GS was buying a 2nd and sent like $6m in cash to Indy. Maybe OKC is sending a decent amount of cash, and eating Theis as the cash payment for “buying “ a 2nd? Though, admittedly, OKC does NOT need to buy any more picks
