and making a stupid trade for Butler - that won't do a damn thing but maybe make the play-in game but at what cost - would be stupider

I get the Butler is a better fit than Beal - but at what cost. The Suns aren't winning a title. Hell, they won't make it out of the 2nd round

NBA Trade Deadline is always it seems a disappointment for the Suns
a lot of talk and nothing

The only time they really have done a damn thing the last ten years - it was the worst thing for the franchise

Ishbia and JJ reading RealGM getting tips from the best.

Hey. Mat and James:

If you're reading this, PM me. I'll be in PHX this weekend and will be in Footprint for the MEM game. Maybe some courtside tickets as payment for my advice? Or an Asst GM job.

Grayson Allen for Goga Bitaze
Jusuf Nurkic and Suns 1st to Wizards, Jonas Valanciunas to Lakers, Vanderbilt, Bey to Suns.

Suns get much larger, hopefully Bey is able to come back soon and help contribute some points off the bench. Vanderbilt to help defensively as well and provide more length. Suns get much younger as well, all three of these guys are 25 years old.

Great chance to get some value for KD while he still has it.

This is about all I would do at this point
It is sad they have to use a FRP to move Nurkic as it is

But keep Durant, don't do the stupid Miami deal

I think these moves would actually make the team better than overpaying for Butler (at the expense of Durant or Beal) and adding anotehr FRP for Nurkic

Barry Jackson from the MiamiHerald
So Butler, Jovic, one first-rounder, two second-rounders and pick swaps appears to be best HYPOTHETICAL Miami offer for KD. Heat obviously would love Durant. Durant has player option for 2026-27. Do you that if you're the Heat?

The big three played well last game, Suns just lacked any other help from the role players. While I would miss Grayson Allen's shooting, Suns need more defensive oriented players IMO and I think Goga and Vandy would provide that. Bey would be the microwave scorer off the bench once he returns from injury, and could likely start next year if Dunn doesn't drastically improve.
It would also put Nick Richards back on the bench as a role player. He is NOT a starter for a playoff team. He'll get exploited. I'm actually unsure how good Goga is though if I'm being honest.

Beal is a **** loser and this was his last chance.

Beal has been a solid pro - he has become 6th man, just plays, no bad talk
Again, blame Ishbia - -it was in the contract

I don't blame any person who takes the initiative to ensure the ability to work ones 'craft' and earn money either for whom the person desires, or in a desired city/state/part of the world. Plus, we have no idea exactly why this was important for him to work this into his contract; just because he makes millions of dollars, doesn't mean he shouldn't be allowed make it happen, and stand firm when challenged.

And it's each person's prerogative to agree or disagree with the premise, but one thing Beal is NOT, and that is a loser, because ultimately, he'll decide what team he plays for next season; that won't be dictated to him, like it is for 99% of NBA players.

Beal has played well since he was moved to the 6th man role. Bey Vanderbilt and Gogi would improve the bench. PLus show how this team plays in the playoffs and if they have a first round exit - can assess Durant and Book this summer

Looks like the Warriors want Butler -- take him I say - take him

If not Butler (for Beal) it seems that we are gonna try to get a PF who can help us to improve on the edges and can play some SF too. Length, defense... Gambo says that he will give us some potential names later.

I suspect that we would get that player for Nurkic + FRP. Who can be that player?

Jonathan Isaac would be my first option but I doubt he is on the market without giving up A LOT.

Suns can't acquire Isaac unless Beal is going out. He makes $25 million a year.

I think the trade Qwigglez talked about
WA: Nurkic FRP from Suns
Lakers: Valuciunis
Suns Vanderbilt and Bey

If the Suns can flip Allen for Gogi -
two smaller margin trades

So you have traded Allen, Okogie, Nurkic and FRP for
Bey, Vanderbilt, Gogi and Richards

About the best you can do over the second apron

EDIT: there goes Valucuinas - to the Kings.

A realistic trade that works in the trade machine:

Nurkic to Wizards

Sadiq Bey to the Suns
Larry Nance Jr to the Suns

Valanciunas to the Hawks

We would need to add a FRP (hopefully just a 2nd) going to the Wizards.

Guys on the Heat forum brought up a great point. If we trade them 1 of those crappy UT ones we got-27 i think....that frees them up to trade 3 FRPs to us. Plus they can move JJJ for another. So 4 FRPs and swaps and Jimmy and Jovic.....

Thats not terrible. Especially if we can somehow get Ware out of the deal too.
