What an offensive start to this game. Demar is being picked apart defensively. Really think moving him would halfway fix our defense

the energy and chemistry of the team knows Fox is gone, should’ve been benched the last few til the deadline.

Wouldn't have changed much. The "vibes" were off the second trade rumors were announced.

Also the offense just naturally plays better with 2 3pt shooters starting. Why we should have been starting keon all year. If demar doesn't get moved, id move him to 6th man and keep keon as a starter.

I think Keon makes a big difference, it’s kind of cumbersome that there still isn’t a way to start him (the one semi negative about the trade, if there is one when you are trading for a better player).

Long term need to keep Keon

They just went over this in one of the radio shows.

He is a 130 offensively and 112 defensively as a stater - + 18 overall. That’s not only insane it demands finding a way to make him be a starter.

I sit down with DeMar and have the Iggy conversation with him. We need his punch as the sixth man realistically and his almost entirely offensive game fits that as well.

How does everyone feel about simply holding on to all the assets and attacking the buyout market.

I just posted the topic on the Trade board because I think there is going to be a fair amount of usable role player talent being bought out. Lots of guys in the 14 - 25 million range that are expiring or have a cut down buyout anyway in the last year that teams cannot take in trade but would love to have off buyout.

I’d be ok if they managed to go out and get a couple of stop gap guys for this year that way instead of another trade then hold on to the assets we have acquired to see what is available in the off season.

Man if I’d gone back in time to 2019 and said the Kings would have Sabonis, DeRozan, and LaVine, everyone would’ve thought I was trolling. KF10 would have banned me. Lol

I’m not saying they’re title contenders or anything, but we have all been rooting for this team forever, it’s pretty sweet to take a step back and see how far they’ve come since 2010.

This is Sabonis' team now. The philosophy should be It's Sabonis and how to surround him with complementary players on both sides of the floor.

Then DDR truly shouldn't be on this team. You can't really have two guys shooting 2.5 & 2.7 3PA per game in Sabonis and DDR in today's NBA and be a super successful team unless you have a superstar on your squad.
If the Kings had another 3pt threat out there instead of DDR (Keon) then this would be a truly great offensive team with Monk, Keon, Lavine, Keegan alongside Domas.

Perhaps the answer is OGs suggestion of tapping Deebo on the shoulder and asking him to come off the bench. Although I would prefer a 3&D 4/3 in that position. Realistically this team isn't far away from a balanced attack and defensive core if they can trade DDR for a 4/3 bench defender that can hit the 3. It's clear Deebo isn't getting traded though unfortunately.

IMO Monk has been a lot better on the defensive end lately. It's like he knew the keys were going to be handed to him and he was proving he could do it on both ends.

Hahaha

Back in 2019, I would’ve assumed you were deep in a 2K rebuild with forced trades on.

Yeah, now we’re out here talking about legitimate roster upgrades. What a time to be alive

Yup I agree. Compare this team to any of the Kings team post-2010, we have come a long way.

That said, we still have a lot of work to do.

Really one more piece for win now.

Draft smart and draft long, tall and athletic and NO MORE SMALL GUARDS!!!

And keep in mind that in two to three years we will be having a TON of expiring money.

I thought all our problems would be fixed with low iq, low innate motor fox gone. Weird

Also innate inconstancy from Keegan won’t improve though his game might, how you handle that…

He’s not good and wouldn’t have touched this game (team was 4-0 with an average +13 without him prior to putting in new players). Fox doesn’t matter. Only Keon and our new faces discombobulated

It’s apparent to anyone watching that he disappears sporadically

Return to Sacramento Kings
