reading between the lines and watching his body language, it seems like Giannis is fully on board with this and feels it's for the best.

I think that's just Giannis way of staying humble. Not acting like he's too good not to get traded one day himself. His quotes just come off kinda harsh if you're looking into it too hard with a bias one way or the other.
