Why wont there be?

He will get a ton of open 3s, a solid catch and shoot and still a big body who can switch a bit

I dont see how Knecht really fits in

He has some potential honestly and I think he will only get better from here, but not sure how he can play defensively with Luka, Bron, and Reaves

Would Detroit want Knecht and Wood (if they value a spacing 5 at all) for Duren?

Maxi+2nd+swap for 1-2 guys who can give us some depth.

Would the cavs move Okoro if they could get a guy like Cam Johnson?

Still he doesn't fit with Luka and Lebron and Reaves. Is he ok coming of the bench and playing 20-25 minutes?

Knecht doesn't fit at all. Still think that Camara + Rob for a 31 1st would be the best realistic deal. But they probably want to keep it for an off season move

Switch more often

The nice part is we don’t have to be as desperate anymore

Can we waive Kieff btw?

I'm liking how Rui fits in since Vando's return. Flank him with Vando and DFS and just have a big switchy group in the second unit. His shooting, cutting, finishing is a good fit next to Luka offensively. Especially if they put a smaller guy on him, Luka and Bron can find him for duck ins every time.

Why not?

Also our no C lineups look a LOT better with DFS and Vando than when it was just Bron

Sadly we dont have a lot of time to figure things out, so this is where Rob shows his worth

I dont want RW3 anymore, too much of an injury risk, unless Vando was in it

Sharpe would be nice, but not sure how to make this work

Hes not worth a 1st, but we would need a few 2nds to get it done

Would Utah give us back a couple 2nds for unprotecting the 27 pick? Or even a late protected 1st and we give them a 2nd?

But who knows if Utah works with us at this point

Need to see what Kleber can get us as well

Yup currently looking good

I would move him in the right deal, but we aren't forced to do anything

Because there's just too many targets on the perimeter without elite help behind them. It can work in the regular season but it won't in the playoffs

I think if you switch a lot and send help and rotate, it may work

Rui has size at least

And with high motor guys like Vando, DFS, and Vincent that helps

Imagine if we still had Caruso....

Wish we could have sent Knecht and a swap instead of Max, would have been perfect

Luka, Christie, DFS, Bron, Hayes
Vincent, Reaves, Vando, Rui, Wood/trade for a C

A cheap SG to replace Max would be nice

Not sure who that guy is though

KCP would be great, but would cost Rui

He better

No better player he will get to play with than Luka

I think they can win another 1-2 rings and I feel like I am being realistic

Big deadline here of course, lets see what Rob got up his sleeve

I think they'll do something small, like Sharpe for Wood, Reddish and draft compensation. In the off season Rui, Maxi and Gabe will be on expiring deals. Much easier to do a bigger deal

Higher than most at least but be careful of the Rui koolaid. He looks good when he looks good but he isn't matchup resilient and shrinks in hustle, defense and rebounding when the matchups get physical or tough. Like it's not random to see him grab only one rebound in bad matchups. He is all the weaknesses of Luka without the rebounding and has constantly thrown off the balance of a lot of lineups one would think looked good on paper. He was also already a terrible defensive fit when Lebron isn't playing hard. He also just really really sucks at losing his man. Almost a talent.

JJ's system makes roleplayers look good, many games with 3-4 guys in double digits or close to 20 but if you can use Rui to find a more versatile, more athletic fit a la DFS it would be worth it in the postseason.

Well if Warriors get Durant then they need to shed some players. Possibly Looney and GP2.

Rui+Hayes is enough salary out to bring in Looney+GP2.

I'd be keen on that for 2nds.

What SGs make sense as a catch and shoot guy to replace him?

Thoughts on Jericho Sims? Not seeing a lot of great cheap C options that are bouncy lob threats. Kessler is the dream

Then somehow Sharpe

Then looking like Sims lol

Happy Jonas no longer an option. Got traded to Sac. Not a fit for us

Holmes, RW3 or Smith

One of these 3

Holmes and RW3 make more than Maxi, not moving Gabe or Rui in these deals

Would just create another hole.

RW3 too injury prone

Jalen Smith is fine, but too slim

I’d do Maxi, unprotect Utah 27 (if it nets us at least 2 2nds) and add a 2nd if needed

God let us get Kessler

Take it all: Knecht, 2031 1st, unprotect 27, swap in 28, choice of swap in 29/30

Pelinka you have less than a day to make something happen

So, how many in here were genuine fans of Luka prior to the trade?

I'll be honest, I've never liked his game. Great player, but also a player with some fatal flaws (extreme ball dominance and lack of defense) that I've always believed would prevent him from winning it all. He's also the biggest crybaby I've ever seen on the basketball court. Very off putting. But hey, he plays with LeBron now, so I'll be rooting for him like no tomorrow (still not a fan though). Lakers also weren't winning anything this season with AD, so I have 0 regrets about the trade. Let's see how things go now.
