Lakers/Magic/Bulls

Post#1 » by Airgordon00 » Thu Feb 6, 2025 12:11 am

Simple 3 Team deal:

Lakers in: Kentavious Caldwell-Pope, Goga Bitadze, Boston 2025 2nd rd pick.

Magic in: Nikola Vucevic and Austin Reaves.

Bulls in: Rui Hachimura, Jaxson Hayes, 2025 Den 1st, 2025 Magic 2nd rd pick, and 2026 2nd rd pick.

Lakers get a solid 3 and D specialist in KCP and a really good interior defender in Goga to cover up for LeBron and Luka’s lack of defense.

Magic get some much needed shooting and bring back a franchise favorite player in vooch.

Bulls get some more draft assets and players that don’t hurt their tank.

Thoughts?

Seems bad for the Magic? Bitadze is pretty good -- considering age and contract, I probably wouldn't swap him straight up for Vuc. I like the Reaves addition, but is he a good enough shooter? And is he worth the downgrade to Vuc, a 1st and 3 2nds?

I'm a Vuc guy...but for the current team (ORL), I think Goga's a better fit for half of the salary. Also, Vuc is playing really well and CHI should expect more than a DEN frp and filler...they seem like bystanders to LAL & ORL getting what they want.

I like Reaves well enough, but ORL could probably give up less and get a better scorer/shooter in Simons, Sexton, or Coby White.

Great for LAL though.

Reaves is an 18/6 guard who shoots the 3-ball well on a relatively low number of assisted 3PA. I think he would be a great guard for Orlando.

I like Goga quite a bit for Orlando and I think Orlando has the assets to get Reaves without giving up Goga.

Bulls are more than ecstatic to do that, fax over the paperwork

Rui probably starts at the 4, Hayes may be behind Smith at center ahead of Collins. The pick, you mean the Bulls have to be there on draft night? And they see the 2nd round for a change?

Not sure it ORL wants an older more expensive Vucevic back

But considering that the Lakers have always contended that they wouldn't trade Reaves that seems like a weak return for an untouchable.

KCP is washed. Lakers giving up Reaves and Rui for Goga is too much.
