Masai Has Found The Plot

Post#1 » by NinjaBro » Thu Feb 6, 2025 5:01 am

Welcome Brandon Ingram. This is an incredible trade and in the whole scheme of things we gave up very little for a former all star. So the tally looks like this siakam for Ingram, Jakobe, Ochai, Shead and Davion. An incredible heist.

Masai is in peak form. We're going to add a top 6 pick with Ingram and have IQ back next season. The rebuild is complete. Shortest rebuild ever. Build the man a statue!

This is the 3rd year in a row that Masai has traded a 1st round pick.

Weirdest rebuild ever.

This is the best trade since the Kawhi one.
Scottie/B.I./IQ/RJ is a solid and respectable core.
They got an under the radar talent for cheap.
Playoffs next year. Nba misses jurassic Park lol

Its a good deal talent wise. Fit and money are strange.

IQ/Shead/Mitchell
Barrett/Dick
Ingram/Walter
Barnes/Bailey, Malauch... FLAGG?!
Poetl

if everyone can come together and play to their potential its a very young playoff team.

You can't win this time. We got Ingram for peanuts. The best asset we gave up was 1 of the 3 1st rd picks that Indy gave us for siakam. It's time to take the L and move on

They still need to resign him, a good player but not great. He can score but is a terrible defender

The tank is even stronger now.

30 games remaining.

Firmly locked into the bottom 5-6 range.

We're not catching the bottom 4 and we're likely not passing the 76ers for the 7th worst record (5 games back and Embiid back).

With that being said - RJ, IQ, and Poeltl are all out right now. Ingram is also out. He won't return till after the all-star break.

We're likely drafting Khaman Maluach, a center who I'm VERY HIGH on and I previously made a post connecting him to Masai.

Brown and Kelly were a big reason why we kept winning in recent weeks, and we were only gonna win more with them playing. But now they're gone. Our bench is totally depleted and we're back to playing Mogbo and Battle... WE ARE GONNA SUCK FOLKS.

Next year will be fun though! BACK TO THE PLAYOFFS WE GO!

honestly man not every rebuild can be tank for 5 years

TECHNICALLY our rebuild started when we got scottie so this isn't "year 1" of the rebuild like masai been saying

masai/bobby been cooking last 12 months idc what y'all say

just need to ensure we finish bottom-5 this year --> if we end up making a play-in run then i'll take back what i said about masai/bobby

I love it, y'all are already re-writing history in defence of this FO. Never change. Not every rebuild can be a tank for 5 years, and none of them involve trading assets to get a 4th, 5th, and now a 9th year player as their "core".

Former is the key word here.

Ingram will never make another all-star team. Bookmark that.

People on here overvalue future draft capital to a degree that's actually mind boggling.

In 1 year we turned Pascal Siakam into Ja'Kobe Walter, Ochai Agbaji, Jamal Shead, Davion Mitchell, and Brandon freaking Ingram, but people are saying that not only is it poor asset management, but it's a fireable offense. Picks are only valuable because of the hope that they'll become good players, but that equation is absolutely backwards for a good section of this board.

Thank the lord we are not going to try to tank for more than one year. Go for it 2026!

In the past 14 months...

Out: Siakam, OG, Achiuwa, Schroder, Flynn, McDaniels, OPJ, Thad, 2026 1st (likely 18-24 range)

In: Ingram, Barrett, Quickley, Agbaji, JKW (2024 Pacers pick), Mogbo (Pistons pick), Shead (Kings pick), 2025 2nd (likely (35-40 range)

We got significantly younger at almost every position while also increasing the overall talent level on the roster with another high pick likely on the horizon. Is it weird because it's not a 10-year tanking process?

Again, the complaints here are about the timing. Just like the complaints about the Poeltl trade. Timing
