Mark Williams has been playing some solid ball since the role became his. 23 and 7ft on his side. Knecht, 2030 swap & 2031 unprotected is kind of pricey. Could end up being a steal if Mark Williams becomes a top 5-10 center

Great get for LA, and at a good price. If he can stay healthy, he completes a great starting 5.
Charlotte, I know you're tanking and you want future assets, but this is blatant. You can't even field functional lineup, you have no Cs left on the roster. Old man Gibson and that young undersized rebounding machine don't count, you need rim protection and lob finishing around Lamelo.

Come on Charlotte! They could have drafted Knect. I thought for Williams was a big part of the future for the team.
My opinion may not be your opinion or their opinion but I have it.

Pelinka chose to sacrifice the FRP and Knecht while keeping Rui and Gabe (for now anyways). This could prove to be a pretty solid deal for both teams.
I don't really understand what Charlotte is thinking, though. I never anticipated them trading Williams after the recent trade with Phoenix. Regardless, they'll love Dalton.
I like that LA is getting a young, vertical center with plenty of upside. Hopefully, he can stay healthy and we'll can extend him when the time comes.

It seems like the Hornets just decided that they never ever want to be competitive. I really admire the perseverance of the fans, even as a lifelong Clippers supporter.
But the fight for the starting center spot between Diabaté and the 67 year old Taj Gibson should be interesting...

Lol if rui or gabe were able to be included rather than Knecht they would be gone.. Rui and Gabe do not have any trade value around the league noone has called going can I get rui or gabe lol.. They still need a perimeter gaurd to fill Max's spot and the only way to get that now is likely Austin Reeves who I like but does not at all fit with luka but they won't trade him until next season and at the point his trade value will diminish as he will be playing off ball a lot more and he isn't a good defender and is only an average shooter.. As far as Knecht goes I think including him is fine he has severe limitation as in he may be able to shoot really well but that's it he can't defend he can't play make.. Those players generally end up at the end of rotations.

I think his injury history makes this a fair trade for Charlotte. Building around injury prone players is risky and fans are usually forgiving of a tank. Charlotte, Utah & New Orleans all have 12 wins. Charlotte could be trying for the 2nd worst record and a guarantee to pick no worse than 6th.
I don't hate this move for them.

Go Knicks!! Go Mets!!
As for the Jets . . . just keep it entertaining.

How old are you?
Rui is shooting 43% from 3-pt range, has size and is strong so can defend.
Austin already has shown he can run an offense, has improved every year and is on a great contract, only $15 million per year.
Gabe has been injured a lot, but he's been a solid contributor lately.
No trade value for those players? You have no idea what you're talking about.

Gabe has no trade value nor does rui teams wanted assests to take them on they saw rui in the playoffs weren't impressed and gabe is an average shooter who is an undersized defender noone is calling for gabe.. The reason rui and gabe are still there is they have no trade value..

Injury prone Williams along with the injury history of Luka and a 40 year old LeBron...oh yeah they are definitely winning titles

IF he can stay healthy yes, he can be a top 10 Center. He's currently averaging 17 Pts 10 REBS and almost 2 blks..how is this not top-ten numbers??

they might not be able to win three in a row, but things could line up and fall into place once in the next three years.

Knecht is fine. Hes 6'6, on a rookie deal at 19, and already a 47/36/83 shooter.
Rui's on a bigger deal w/ less team control and is older, but more size and way better shooting; 53/43/76 in his last 2 seasons (100+ games) w/ the lakers. One bad playoff series doesn't undo that. Remember, DLo (.384 FG), Reaves (.269 3P), Dinwiddie (.357/250) and of course Vincent (.250/.143) were all horrible too.
For his career in the postseason -- including that gentleman's sweep -- Rui is still a 54/49/76 shooter (57/52/80 without it).
Both guys had terrible defensive metrics on a bad (bottom 10) defense.
Feels pretty even to me, just depends on if you want your terrible defense (no upside there for either) to come with cheap team control and "unproven" shooting or if you want shooting/size but pay for it with cap space.
Both guys fit different timelines.

Give him five more minutes per game and he averages like 20 and 12. Thats good enough for a third stringer on a contender.

I like it for the Lakers. Charlotte is clearly going in the direction of tearing this whole team down with the recent ownership and front office. I would not be surprised if LaMelo and/or Bridges gets dealt in the offseason.

is Mark Williams better than when Deandre Jordan or Clint Capela were in their prime ?
I have never watched him play.
