Dark horse trade …. Allen and whatever picks for Olynyck. There’s not much else out there.

These F-ers handcuffed themselves thoroughly

Y’all think this trade deadline was dismal…. Stay tuned for the draft and off season.

It’s honestly crazy that the Lakers have completed their rebuild and are now set for the next 12-14 years. What exciting times to be a Lakers fan man…

Meanwhile a dumb mfer like Ishbia twists in the wind with no direction.

When LeBron is off the books you know they will have some other key signings and that 2031 pick is probably 25+

Ok calm down. Lakers are not contenders.
They have absolutely zero defense.
Their 3 best players all need the ball and ISO to be effective. It’s just the same thing every time with Pelinka. Just add a bunch of guys who did well on other teams but don’t mesh well because Pelinka doesn’t know how to build a team. He just goes after guys with nice looking stats.
This is a perennial 5-8/play in team as long as LeBron is there.
Suns just need to fire Jones, trade Tyus and get some rebounding and gritty guys.

Agreed on all of this. Let's hope we are right. :)

A lot of that applies to Suns and we see the results. I want to see OKC crush the Lakers in the playoffs as they did with us last game.

I want OKC to lose in the 1st or 2nd round. Houston too.

I kinda hope the suns just sit KD and Booker the rest of the year if they aren’t going to trade them. I’d rather watch Oso and Dunn and Monte play some spirited basketball this team is sooooooooo boring. I legit can’t stomach paying to re up my season tickets.

And give Rockets a top 5 pick.... yes, thats a good strategy.

If anything, Rockets doesnt want to trade with Suns until end of season so the Suns pick remains in the 15-20 range with KD, Booker and Beal. Rockets dont want to give up Suns picks because Suns will then tank and those picks become 5-10 range, maybe even top 3.

This guy gets it.

Tyus Jones has always been a handy PG, until he signed with Suns and play next to Booker and KD. Most nights Jones literally just brings the ball up to half and gives up PG duties to Booker and spots up at the 3pt line.... no other plays for him.
He absolutely regrets signing cheap with the Suns.... risking injury and devaluing his worth is absolutely regrettable for him. He is also hard to trade because he earns too little.

Its not a coincidence, appeasing to Booker and KD is not good for anyone's career, coaches included.

It was a gamble that will unfortunately deter other veterans from signing with this disaster of a team.

I think we can trade him and get a couple 2nd round picks back maybe and just start Morris at PG. Seeing the Lakers rebuild overnight is just a depressing thought and just speaks to the complete dysfunction of the Suns organization.

So the 1 team trades we can do to get picks back are:

Trade with Houston -
2025 get swap back
2027 get pick back
2029 get swap back

Trade with Utah -
2031 get pick back

Too complicated with multiple teams owning swap options - 2026, 2028, 2030

Hard to near impossible to do a draft rebuild from this position

He was a great signing, but his bad D and Booker/KD taking the ball out of his hands made him redundant. Let's see if they get someone useful for Nurkic and pick. If they can't better get 2nd rnd picks for Jones and bring back Beal to SL as we'll suck anyway.

Rob Pelinka isn’t an idiot unlike Ishbia. He’s not doing that trade. He’ll probably brain fck Ishbia into trading Booker for that package though.

Not happening.

The Lakers are the main team in the NBA (and in the world) and most other teams are just farm for them. It's sad but it's true. The league found a way to make it more popular for the casual fans. Who doesn't want to watch the Lakers now?

Doncic and the best young C in the league. LOL.

All what they traded for Mark Williams needed to be traded in the package for Doncic. It's embarrassing that the Lakers got a Top 4 NBA player entering his absolute prime without giving up more than a mere FRP and street clothes AD.

They are my favorite in the West to go to the Finals over OKC now. Good work by the league to make the Lakers a focal point AGAIN.****.

Great so they traded that 2031 unprotected first for seemingly nothing. They better make at least one trade before the deadline.

I don't see Lakers making the Finals this season even after these moves. Denver can still beat them in a 7 game series. Who knows though Luka and LeBron have not even played one game together yet.

Just trade KD for whatever you can. Remove the cancer and move on.

I put a large sum to bet on the Lakers winning a title in the next 4 years. It was even before the Williams trade. I feel quite confident and I’m pretty sure this will significantly help me out with a mortgage payment when it pays out.

If I had to guess, I’d say Luka wins at least 2 titles with the Lakers before he retires.

Adding a PF doesnt solve the slow predictable offense that literally rely on two players to create or find spot shooters. Defend that strategy and Suns struggle.

I want to say its Bud and his system, but we've seen this same offense and defense under Vogel and even Monty. 3 different coaches but the system hardly changes. The common denominator is the duo of Booker and KD....

Well, probably trading for a solid PF wouldn't make a huge impact on the team but we could be a more balanced team and just improve our roster.

Some names that fit the position and salary:

Jared Vanderbilt (Lakers), $10.7M +3 years.
Larry Nance Jr (Hawks), $11.2M expiring.
Obi Toppin (Pacers), $13M +3 years.
Patrick Williams (Bulls), $18M +4 years.
Bobby Portis (Bucks), $12.6M +1 year.
Brandon Clarke (Grizzlies), $12.5M +2 years.

Probably Toppin, Vanderbilt and Williams fit the mold better because we are trying to get a PF who can play some SF too. We will see.
