At this rate I don’t think we’ll be able to shave off Anderson’s contract completely without giving up assets which we will not but could be a chance to trade for less money coming back to get out of the 1st apron. The 1st apron rules kick in when 7 million over the tax line. Originally the Raptors were going to just take him as a asset free addition using there TPE. That looks like it fell through with them agreeing to Ingram deal.

From ESPN:

The Miami Heat are working through a resolution with Kyle Anderson, after the portion of the multiteam megadeal that would have sent him to the Toronto Raptors fell through, sources told ESPN's Shams Charania.

At very least he's getting dealt for a contract that's smaller coming back.

Disagree. The team is in the exact position it needs to be in. Lowry/Rozier were win now moves that missed the mark and ideally the Heat should’ve traded Butler in the offseason.

Develop youth, add pick, retool in 26.

Ayo

Ware

Probably the most athletic line up Heat have had since since the Waiters lead squad?

Would love that. Ayo would solve a lot of Miami's rotation issues.

Who do you all think we were trading Anderson for with the Raptors?

Davion Mitchell. He'd have saved us a couple million and filled the backup point guard role

Those 3 FRP are at the bottom of the first round. Almost 2nd round picks. Heat got a top 10 protected pick.

The 3FRP are the best between Minnesota and Cleveland this league changes quick so in 2-5 years the landscape will probably change. Also the warriors are 2 games behind Minnesota, huge chance that Minnesota pick will be better.

The 3 FRP are the least favorable selections between Cleveland and Minnesota in 2025 and between Cleveland, Utah and Minnesota in both 2027 and 2029

Anderson was going to be traded using Raptors trade exception. No player would be needed, straight salary dump

How exactly are you going to acquire this star without contracts to trade and players that you won't trade that the star wants to play with? Is your plan to bottom out and hope to select players in the draft that turn into all-star level players to attract that franchise changing star. No star wants to come play with recently drafted players who are unproven. So now the plan is to hope your draft picks turn into viable championship pieces 3-4 years from the time they're drafted. Wait aren't there are already two all star level players on the roster?

Exactly! Wait it out develop young stars were not winning a title anytime soon so many contenders in our way. And when I say develop young stars no one on this team is it. Ware is cool but he's never gonna be a top 10 player. We need a top 10 guy on this team its Miami a great market that should be always be aiming for top 2 in the east and making Finals appearances. I know every team wants that but we actually have the coaching and front office and structure as an organization to get it done. But Riles gotta go he'd old and washed and he always wants old stars past their prime thats not gonna cut it. I'm glad we didn't get KD we need an SGA or Anthony Edwards not a KD!

Obviously thats an example name but you catch my rift and through trades aint gonna happen so yeah let's tear it down accumulate picks and draft the future stars. Perfect example this years class how amazing would Heat fans feel if we had a top 3 lottery pick instead of middling around each year for the 9th and 8th seed and playoff losses and the 14-20th pick.

Two of the 5 best players in the world (Jokic and Giannis) weren't lottery picks. SGA was drafted late lottery at 11th. So if 3 of the best players in the world weren't drafted in the high lottery and one wasn't even drafted by the team they're on I'd say there is no clear path to a star. And bottoming out only really guarantees that you'll lose alot and nothing else.

I gotta say, I really like our team right now

We're young, versatile, and deep

Pg: Herro / Rozier
Sg: Robinson / Burks / Larsson
Sf: Wiggins / Jacquez / Highsmith
Pf: Bam / Jovic / Anderson / Tucker / Johnson
Cc: Ware / Love

I would love to trade for a point guard but I don't feel like it's an absolute most. What I really love now is that we're a team that looks for mismatches and knows how to exploit them. I want to see Robinson on the bench more and Jovic playing with the other 4 starters. No one would be able to deal with us.

Locked on Suns mildly speculated that they may look to trade Tyus Jones for a 2nd.

Wonder if Mia would have interest and if they could financially make that work

We were not taking anything back. Raptors were going to absorb into there TPE and get us completely out of the tax.

Mark Williams is def an upside play by LA. He's a huge body/target. He's basically exclusively a play finisher around the basket offensively but hes damn good at that. He won't create any offense and won't do anything outside the paint. He basically doesn't shoot or make anything outside of 5 feet from basket. But, he will absolutely be eating good with Luka and Lebron feeding him.

Similarly on defense, he's a guy that will be exposed anywhere but in the paint. He's definitely not some elite rim protector but he'll get some blocks. This season, opponents are shooting 68% at the rim against him--worst mark on the Charlotte team that is ranked 27th in defense.

He has upside to be better than he's been on defense bc he has tools.

But, most notable about him--he's a 7' youngster that has played in 42 total games dating back to the start of last season. Apparently concerns with a back injury.

His highlight tape and counting stats look a lot better than his game impact to date. Pretty risky.

Thank the good Lord! I'm guessing they wanted Ware, Jovic, Jacquez and every pick we could put together. It would have been our entire future for a 36 year old Durant

He would be a huge boost, what do the Cavs even have to offer? He’s killing it off the bench this year. Contract ends in 27 though so we’re probably not interested

You and I both know it was Ware and two first round picks
