And people talk about we should blow it up and build like a team like Houston. When is the last time Houston was good with Hakeem?

I have no interest in watching a lottery team for the next 5 years.

Get Nurk out of here. This something we need to do asap

Well we won't be a lottery team because we have none of our picks! We will just be a team that didn't make the playoffs that has the 25th-30th pick in the coming years. But we can always say "we haven't been in the lottery for years!"

I will say it again, send Allen and the picks for Avdija and we have our player that can play SF or PF and even play as a point forward. A starting lineup of Beal, Booker, KD, Avdija and Richards is good and maybe in the offseason we can get a better C and maybe somehow compete next season, it would be a step in the right direction if we are not blowing it up. We didn't need Butler and this whole trade just distracted our team and FO from really getting better and trading for role players and messed our chemistry.

Butler would have been an upgrade over Beal. However you are correct Suns need to address roster issues pronto and today is the day.

How Ironic would it be that Haliburton could have been with the Suns all along... and we give the ieces he would have played with to the other team. This organization has no clue what it is doing.

It’s not what we need.

I am going to make a new thread with ideas later on today. Not a part 4 of this thread, but a different one. Someone can also make a part 4 for this thread but I think we should wait until post trade deadline and can call it "Part IV-Post Trade Deadline, The Final playoff push"

However, to your KD point, I agree. We are better when he is on the floor, but the problem is, we are just not good enough with him (and Book) as our best players with this cast, so we are likely headed to be a non playoff team this year and next year, etc. Even if we do squeeze into the playoffs, I just don't see a way we win a series. We can maybe get hot and play well in win 1 or 2 games in a series if we are lucky, but we are not consistent enough, play hard enough or have good enough defense to win a series.

So the smart thing to do with KD is to trade him for the best we can get, while he still has value, hopefully a couple firsts, and a prospect...and I guess filler. I doubt we trade him today, but hopefully this summer he still has some value worth 2 firsts and a couple decent players with defensive mentality and upside.

This teams issues are way too numerous to solve with one or two trades for role players at the deadline.

Small trades where you have to give up a FRP are useless

It starts with Booker and Durant

Maybe Allen for The Orlando center

No more trading picks for average players

There is no shame in admitting "it did not work, we tried and failed". It is rather disappointing to prolong the inevitable.

If they trade a FRP and Nurk for PWill - ishbia is an idiot

Stop trading FRPs to dump players

Trade Durant already

I think it'd be great if either KD or Book got traded to a team that wins a championship this season. Not because I care for either one (which I don't) but just to stick to Ishbia and Jones. Being petty is the only thing I have to look forward to with this team.

He and Durant are the problems

Not Beal

I’m at the same point with Booker. I was such a big fan of his and he helped make us relevant again and had incredible performances in the Finals run and in the Nuggets series two years later and all.

But ever since the KD trade, he’s become an empty stats player in a way. He doesn’t show any kind of heart or fire to his game.

We’re much, much better off just trading him and restarting. Let the Lakers, Thunder, Cavs, Celtics, Grizzlies, Rockets etc run the NBA for the next 5-6 years while we rebuild and hopefully come back up.

Exactly right. Admit it and move forward

With the new CBA, being above the second apron is punitive. That’s why butler never made sense - plus he is old and just wanted a paycheck

Need to be able to make trades and not just fringe for fringe

I’ve worked with coke addicts and even had friends that were heavily into that stuff and I can say with 100% certainty that Ishbia is a major coke addict. I bet he had just done a line right before this press conference.

But if other teams are calling, I really wonder what they are offering.

Read on Twitter

Durant doesn’t have a no trade clause and is under contract for next year. What do he mean “he said no”? Why would you even ask KD?

If Luka doesn’t get asked before he gets traded, why the f*** would you ask a 40 year old dinosaur like KD what he thinks about being traded?

I listened to him for the first time in the Simmons podcast. 2 minutes into the podcast I was thinking "this guy does so much coke"

PHX / IND

Booker

FOR

Jarace Walker
Obi Toppin
Isaiah Jackson
James Wiseman
Myles Turner

+++++++

Durant

FOR

Siakam
Mathurin

Pacers then have:

Haliburton
Booker
Nesmith
Durant
Bryant (??)

That Booker trade is the worst trade i have ever seen in my life...in any capacity. Both on NBA forums and in NFL forums as well. Worst in my life...and I'm over 40 years old.

Worst.

Sooooo congratulations by you I guess.....

Secondary team. OKC, built from within, the right way, young exciting players who love playing together and play hard. SGA with those sound bites last night. You can tell he's a GREAT teammate and leader. They were saying "he's a superstar, and also a great leader, but more importantly, acts humble like he's just one of the guys.." So refreshing to hear stuff like that.

When LeBron is off the books you know they will have some other key signings and that 2031 pick is probably 25+

Hopefully they don't get JJJ in the summer of 26.

It's just frustrating to look back and see we had:

Paul
Booker
Bridges
Crowder
Ayton

With Cam Johnson showing some real promise, and our future picks intact...

...yet just because we took the Mavs to 7 games, and lost, everything that followed, all the decisions made, did nothing but snowball into the mess we have today...it's just depressing...

How the heck did 'we' ever think that trading our picks away, with Bridges and Johnson, for the 'honor' of bringing Durant in...

Then essentially swapping out Ayton for Nurkic, and dumping CP3...

Nothing since then has moved us forward; we've just regressed--gotten older, worse, and with less flexibility for the foreseeable
future, yet the Lakers somehow pull off a total coup by grabbing Doncic for pennies on the dollar.

Yep, I long for those day again...

Dark horse trade …. Allen and whatever picks for Olynyck. There’s not much else out there.

These F-ers handcuffed themselves thoroughly

Y’all think this trade deadline was dismal…. Stay tuned for the draft and off season.

It’s honestly crazy that the Lakers have completed their rebuild and are now set for the next 12-14 years. What exciting times to be a Lakers fan man…

Meanwhile a dumb mfer like Ishbia twists in the wind with no direction.

Imagine if Nico went to Ish instead and said "would you ever consider Luka for KD?" He probably would have set "absolutely not, KD wants to be a Sun".
