So I don’t know if the fanbase or lux-paying ownership would accept it, but suppose Connelly wanted to get a little worse this season to be better longterm (part of the goal of the KAT trade).

Randle for Ball + Jalen Smith … saves $3.1 this year, $12 next year

NAW to SAC for TPE + 2 CHA 2nds .. saves $4.3 this year, ??? next year (can’t bring him back)

Without calculating it, saving $7.4 mil might save owner $35 mil, which might lessen the sting of still paying $65 mil in lux taxes for a team that doesn’t excel in the playoffs.

I don’t know how I feel about that plan.

I'm not sure if Chicago will move Ball now after they extended him last night.

I wouldn't hate a White/Williams package for Randle, even though it's future money....

I love this idea even though Williams' contract is fugly. White has flaws but he would instantly be our best PG by a large margin.

I agree with Minimus that every time I have watched Patrick, he's been a disaster but I'd probably make this trade.

I wouldn't be surprised to see them attempt again in the offseason. It would require some creativity, but I think it is possible.

I do think the biggest factor in our overall inactivity was the 1+1 nature of Randle's contract. It wasn't so much the money itself or Randle as a player, I think it was the extra year. Look around the league, teams were only adding players with extra years if there were picks attached. Tim was rightfully protective of his draft capital, because it is already limited and it might pack a greater punch in June as we approach the draft.

I think there was a better chance of one of us suiting up for the Wolves.

I just don't see a truly feasible path that A) let's us make it work under the CBA, B) leaves us with enough assets to make it happen and C) lets us fill out a roster around Ant, KD and Rudy.

The only thing what matter is the result at the deadline. What may have been is a way to people to exist or make money on social media...we have a roster, now time to focus on getting into the PO and it be will tough. Go Wolves!

Wolves have at least probably 3-4 weeks without Randle or DDV. The next step is filling roster spot 15 with a backup C. Until then we should send Garza and Finch to Iowa and use Miller and Micah to achieve best results .

Could we yes, but that means paying Minott his entire guaranteed fee (this years money,) and then since he is non guaranteed next year that money disappears. But then we need to pay DS at the tax rate, I don’t see ownership paying to make that happen when we could have traded Josh.
