What about during full crashes?

I don’t know when it was a full crash or not but it never loaded unless I was on a vpn from another country. No idea if they were blocking or slowing down certain locations to deal with volume but that is what it seemed like.

It's possible they throttle Canadian traffic since our ad revenue likely isn't worth as much ads that reach American viewers.

This forum needs to be updated from the ads to the traffic it can handle. I'm sure most would toss in a few bucks to make it happen.

If you guys go for Reddit, then just get the Old Reddit Redirect extension for Chrome/Firefox, etc. It brings back the old layout since the new Reddit layout is ass and super ad-riddled.

I mean, I'd love to support this site cause forums are a dying breed nowadays, but the intrusive full page ads sometimes are also a cancer on the eyes. uBlock Origin is just a god-send extension for every browser, and you can still whitelist this site if you wanna keep supporting them via ads.

This board is not a significant money maker. The admin keeps the forum going, but there likely isn’t an incentive for him to be investing in new servers and software fixes. It is what it is.

I don't mind Lemmy, but it's pretty unpopular and not very intuitive to browse through, in my opinion. It's kind of similar to the new Reddit layout in a way, which doesn't appeal to me as much. I think most of the guys on this Raptors board are probably all old farts that prefer the forums style, lmao.
