Welcome Jared Butler!

Since nobody started a thread for him yet. Another undersized albeit young guard named Jared which Morey loves. Average 3 point shooter. I don't expect much from him but I'm open to being surprised.

Bona and I guess Oubre are the only guys who will be real lob threats for him. Yabu sometimes.

It's a shame Butler's not 6'5 with his type of game. Very smooth with the basketball and while he's not a deadeye shooter, he is a shot maker. He did drop 26/7 on us, and was impressive doing so. I'm not going to get too hyped about him, but I am looking forward to seeing what he can do in the backup point guard role. It's basically a tryout and Jeff Dowtin is his only real competition at this time. Hopefully he can shine for us.

He reminds me of Trey Burke—a decent creator, but his size makes him inconsistent and a defensive liability.

Our team has a lot of wild cards—guys who can explode for high-scoring games and swing a win, similar to Caleb Martin’s performance against the Celtics. We’ve got Oubre, Eric Gordon, Justin Edwards, Grimes, Yabu, and Jared Butler—each capable of putting up 15-20 points on any given night.
There’s never been a time in history when we look back and say that the people who were censoring free speech were the good guys.

Can we get a actual guard over 6'4 that can possibly pair with Maxey in the backcourt and not make us weak defensively?

Hoping that's Grimes.

He cooked us a while back, that’s about all I know bout the dude’s nba game. Remember yelling ‘tf this dude running all over the lane’ at the screen.

Yea bit he's only 6'4. He's solid physically though so that helps.

I'm happy with the youth movement @ guard, but still need a little more length and athleticism.

Maxey 6'2 Ht 6'6 wing
Mccain 6'2Ht 6'3.5wing
Grimes 6'4 /6'8
Butler 6'2.5/ 6'4

None of these guys are explosive or above average athletes except Maxey because of his speed.

Justin Edwards panning out made Martin a bit expendable. When considering "guard" rotation, I think Oubre and Council need to be considered since they have regularly been ball handlers, even offense initiators, for us. There's a decent amount of length to cover defensive deficiencies from smaller guards like Maxey and Butler.

I thought about it but I think with true ball handlers like Mccain and Butler on the floor there will be no need for them to bring the ball up or be on ball. Its seems we are constantly going to be pairing Maxey with a player not much bigger than him.

Ideally a rotation of Maxey/Grimes than McCain off the bench as 6th man . I'm not sure where Butler will fit in the rotation if Grimes and Mccain work out but I'm guessing he's insurance.

Welcome Jared, like your aggressive nature like a Jaden.
