I think broadcaster-Reggie thinks highly-enough of himself as a player to play "God" in his commentary - just call it as the cards fall, without feeling the need to curry favour. Which is obviously a good thing.

A lot of people can't get pass Reggie the Knick Nemesis. I happen to enjoy his post playing career. He has been one of the first pro-Knicks commentors when they turn the corner.

You're probably talking about him calling a playoff game during the Knicks/Pacers series. He gave the NBA what they wanted. He has said it multiple times that player-Reggie and commentator-Reggie aren't the same guy. He's backed that up many times because he doesn't lean in any particular direction. He was on the JB wagon from the get-go.
