I can't believe Lakers couldn't get Kessler, but It all makes sense now  ... Hope JHS gets some much needed playing time.

Memphis making a consolidation trades wasn't a surprise here. They have to stay ahead for upcoming contracts of Santi Aldama and Jaren Jackson III.

Wasn't expecting Marvin Bagley III nor Johnny Davis to be part of the Smart package. I was thinking more Malcolm Brogdan.

Actually my team doesn’t have enough room below the 2nd apron to sign a guy to the minimum

Like everyone else I nailed the Luka/AD deal.

I didn't have a good feel for what GS would do between going for a star (with Butler a plausible option), getting a stretch-5 or essentially nothing. I did think they wouldn't give up a 1st beyond this season to not get in the way of a rebuild (an ugly contract or two won't really be in the way of a rebuild). I did expect Schroeder to end up with Detroit in any of these scenarios, one way or another.

The Fox deal would have been a huge surprise several months ago but once the trade rumors started then something like it made sense.

Phoenix not being able to move Beal (between his NTC and other teams hanging up when his name is mentioned) and using one of their late 1sts to move Nurk for something was expected.

Given the price they were holding out for I'm not surprised Cam Johnson and Kessler stayed put.

I am surprised that Portland didn't sell high on at least one of their vets, that Orlando did nothing, and that Sexton is still with Utah.

I came in expecting Lakers to get a more defensive identity and they tripled down on an offensive identity.

I know I wasn't close LOL

I said Myles Turner would not be traded by the Pacers. This was a pretty safe bet considering the way the team has been winning.

in future people need to correctly guess the amount of cash too :P

In the case of Wiseman probably enough to buy him out up to his full salary for the season, my bet is $1.2 million.

chrbal wrote:Kind of thought Schroeder being dumped onto Detroit made sense if the Warriors made a big trade. They did, but he basically went to Utah. I then posted about he really didn’t make sense for Detroit and how “if they wanted him, he would have already been a Piston” since they were part of that trade.

Realgm uncrashes and Dennis is a Piston. So not close, quite the opposite.

Did shoot down zimpy27(s) Duren to the Lakers idea, since it didn’t make sense for Detroit. The Lakers got their big from a team that is re-rebuilding, that makes sense for them to do

Definitely not the exact trade, but there was a lot of Schroeder chatter on the Pistons board before the deadline. Good move w Ivey out and even better, didn’t cost anything.

jayjaysee wrote:Think about 30 posters suggested Wiggins for Butler based deal…. Not sure how many of us suggested Dennis into Det cap space. But I can at least put myself on the list? Maybe near the top of it?

Was one of the first few Dallas fans to accept trading Grimes because Dallas wouldn’t pay him.. well before the Luka trade.. though I definitely didn’t see them trading him and a second for a more injured more expensive player who is a few years older.. (Luka trade?)

Yeah, the Grimes trade surprised me, but I guess it makes sense that if you ain't shelling out for Luka, you DEFINITELY ain't shelling out for Grimes...

I was talking for months about the wizards making a trade with the bucks . I was a little off with who I thought would be in the trade and why. But I figured that was the way to help them save money.

No, I cynically expected the Warriors to stand pat and then leak after the deadline about how close they were to making a bunch of big deals. Pleasantly surprised.

Yes the Bulls were able to move Zach Lavine. They didn't get great players back but had their own 2025 pick returned. That's the most important rebuild piece they could hope for. Consider that the Kings got 3 FRP's and still got him means he wasn't a big value. But his contract doesn't look like much after Butler got $61M

Thought for sure with as many teams that swapped centers somebody would want a durable 20/10 guy. I guess everybody thought they had the scoring and just wanted big body to rebound and play defense. Jevon Carter is a 3&D type with playoff experience but nobody cared. Didn't really expert anything more and nothing came.
