Trae or Booker
Both could be available this offseason. Who would you rather trade for?

Might as well ask how many angels can fit on the top of a needle... have you SEEN this front office? IT AIN'T HAPPENING!

Trae the turnover machine? The supposedly good PG that is not in the top 50 in ass/to? The chucker? The guy that doesn't defend ****?

As Orlando cannot afford either cap wise, it's a pipe dream.
It's a moo point.

We could, because Trae can only sign a 5 yr/$229 mil contract as a max deal if he gets traded.
The projected cap at this rate will be $196 million as 1st Apron in 2025-2026 season.
2025-2026 Contracts:
Franz Wagner $38,661,700
Jalen Suggs $35,000,000
KCP $21,621,500
Paolo Banchero $15,334,769
Wendell Carter $10,850,000
Jonathan Isaac $15,000,000
Cole Anthony $13,100,000
Anthony Black $7,970,028
Goga Bitadze $8,333,333
Jett Howard $5,529,506
Tristan da Silva $3,809,520
Total $175 mil
If we traded KCP, Anthony Black, Cole Anthony, 2025 Den 1st, 2029 1st, 2026 2nd, 2028 2nd, 2030 1st Round Pick Swap, our cap would go from $175 mil to $132.3 mil, then add $46 mil and our cap would be 178.3 mil with Trae and 9 roster spots taken. Have 2 2-way players on contract and 2 minimum contracts ($6 mil) and we're at 13 contracted players. We'd have $12 mil for the 2 other contracts.
PG: Trae
SG: Suggs
SF: Franz, TDS, Jett
PF: Paolo, Isaac
C: Goga, WCJ
Pretty solid rotation, just need to get backup guards but we can draft, sign someone or make another trade.

Re: Trae or Booker
What a cute question to ask knowing the morons and cowards we have running the team. We're just going to pick uo the team options on the team we currently have and we'll be running it back again and headed to the play-in/1st round exit again.

Re: Trae or Booker
Atlanta isn't in any financial trouble to have to trade Trea. Phoenix is kinda screwed with their cap issues. So if 1 was more gettable I'd lean towards Booker. Problem is in 2026/2027 we'd be in almost the same situation as Phoenix is in now. Guess a big part of it is if that much money guaranteed would put us in real contention for a championship

Re: Trae or Booker
I did notice a headline at the bottom of this page in NBA news that Booker wants to be with the suns for his entire career. If history is any indication that's the sign that he'll be in a different uniform sooner or later

Re: Trae or Booker
Booker would be the perfect fit but would cost a lot and would put us above the 2nd apron
But we d still have FRP to improve our team
I think it would cost us this:
Kcp+ black+Jett+Harris+ 4 frp
2025, Round 1: DEN pick - #6 — #30
2026, Round 1: ORL pick - #1 — #30
2028, Round 1: ORL pick - #1 — #30
2030, Round 1: ORL pick - #1 — #30
Post trade
Suggs, 2025 FRP
Booker, Cole
Franz, TDS
Paolo,ji, moe
Goga,wcj,moe
Solid but contender?

Yea it’s like a precursor statement prior to a change lol. I remember when we signed Lee Nailon to a second 10 day contract and he said he wanted to spend the rest of his career with the Magic lol. Good times.

Re: Trae or Booker
Booker would be a dream but Trae is more realistic. Also Booker we would have to include Suggs so there is that.

Re: Trae or Booker
I don't understand why the Hawks would trade Trae. That don't control their picks.

Re: Trae or Booker
FVV would fit better than either (with OUR team) and more likely to be affordable to get and to keep for a few years

I'd love FVV on our team, but the Rockets have been on a 5 game, about to be 6 game losing streak while having him out with injury so they are gonna try their hardest to keep him.
They might try to decline the team option and renegotiate, not sure about their cap situation and impending extensions they have
The importance of vets cant be understated

Trae would have to force his way out, which I cant picture him doing until after he signs his extension. Expect him to get really vocal after though
Which sucks because I'd want him if he didnt get the Supermax

It's not like they're playing incredible *with* him, ya know?
Some people think handing the keys over to Jalen Johnson is the best thing they could do.

I can see Trae asking out now that they’ve started gutting their team for financial relief. We all know stars get their way once they ask out. The real question is does he have a preference of where he wants to be and would he object to Orlando?
My guess? He stays quiet until he can get his supermax this summer, then asks out once he’s eligible to be traded… but maybe Atlanta doesn’t even want to give him the supermax and trades him this summer.

Booker obviously, but I'd take either one.
