I'm tuning in just for this, a great career for Hubie.

The big thing right now, is that we all watch and support Mr. Brown.

Turns 92 this year, almost old enough to get into an argument with JJ Redick about plumbers, hate to see him go. It'll suck when the really old guys are all boomer trash

Awesome commentator, and an inspiration to anyone getting up there in age that there are still great opportunities to keep going and stay with it.

What I remember best about that season is that Hubie ran a team with a ten-man rotation where all ten of those guys averaged between 20 and 30 minutes a game. I've never seen anything like that again. Other than a very young Pau Gasol, those were all role players of one kind or another and the man casually coached them to 50 win in a Western conference that had 10 teams with a winning record.

I'm looking at it now and that team had the 7th best offense in the league. That's insane considering the players and the 10-man rotation.

It's a real sad feeling when guys you grew up listening to decide to call it a career. This past year has been brutal for Hubie as his wife of 64 years Claire passed away this past June and his son Brendan who was an assistant with him in Memphis passed away this past November at 54.

His granddaughter via his son needs him more than the game and honestly it's been a pleasure listening to Hubie share his knowledge of the game and the stories off the court. This should be a celebration of life and hopefully he gets to enjoy the rest of his time with his loved ones.

A true basketball legend. Coached for years, too! His broadcast work is great compared to some of the bumbling microphone we get treated to today. Had some unfortunate luck as a coach in the NBA it seemed, but he's a great communicator of the sport we love and hope some folks chime in about it on Sunday.

Thanks from afar, Hubie! Been a real pleasure to have a great mind on the call like his for years... really sad news about his family stuff going on, much respect to him to fight through it and bring us his perspective once more. I've never met him but would have loved to sit down and talk about the game or just watch and hear his off-broadcast perspective in person, always find it fascinating to see someone with so much expertise remark upon simple actions and plays
Cheers

He's needed to retire for several years, but he's a truly special basketball mind and is probably my favorite-ever color analyst.
