Re: Official Brandon Ingram Thread
We got just over 30 games left. I predict 12-15 games played from him to show he’s still got it.

Someone exciting to watch, I am going to tune in again once he comes back from his injury. Actually stoked.

I think the Raptors’ culture will be a big difference from what he’s experienced in New Orleans and might unlock something more in his game.
He doesn't really get to the rim much, unless I'm looking at the stats wrong?
Where's the D?

I would not count on him playing so many games rest of the way to be honest. Bruce probably would have suited up for all 30 plus remaining. Now, the real guy that needs to sit his ass down is Poeltl. It’s unfathomable they had to wait for him to get injured again with a hip pointer. I honestly don’t think they want to tank at all sometimes.

Re: Official Brandon Ingram Thread
He's a great finisher but doesn't drive enough considering his ability. Darko got RJ to be more aggressive so I wouldn't be surprised if we saw a similar development. In any case his perimeter shot making is more important for this team than his inside game.Ell Curry wrote:StopitLeo wrote:One of my favourite things about Ingram is how he attacks the rim. Does anyone know what injury he has? I feel like everyone is just labeling him injured and never mentions what his injury is and how severe it is.

We're going to draft Maluach or the BPA. It'll give us 48 minutes of rim protection between him and Poeltl. We also got a half court creator which helps our scoring issues. The Raptors are going to be one of the better teams in the East next season.

He has a left high ankle sprain. The Pelicans were holding him out to tank as well or find a trade. He'll be back very slow but held out like IQ.

I personally am very pessimistic. He never really was able to be healthy thus not able to unlock his potential.
My personal Hope is, that beeing in Toronto changes that.

That's interesting. He must be planning to work with them on a contract. Why else would he throw away 2.1 million dollars?

You need to look at his pre- vs post-Zion stats. Ingram cut his proportion of FGA at the rim in half once Zion was drafted since Zion can’t shoot beyond 10 feet (90%+ of his shots are inside 10 feet!). Ingram started shooting a lot more from the mid-range and long 2s.
It is true that he doesn’t do it a lot, which is why I said how he attacks the rim. If you watch some of BI’s highlights you’ll see how aggressive he is attacking the rim, often looking to dunk the ball (unlike Pascal for example) and inviting contact.
Scottie definitely plays inside a lot but not exclusively like Zion (his 3 pt shooting definitely needs to improve). A notable difference IMO is that Ingram is clearly the best scorer on the Raptors whereas he and Zion were trying a 1A/1B thing with the Pelicans.
With Ingram being the #1 option on offence it takes a lot of pressure off Scottie needing to score and should allow him to lean into his natural playmaking abilities more. At the same time, Ingram is actually a pretty good playmaker himself so it’s not like he’ll be a black hole where Scottie won’t get opportunities to score anymore once he gives up the ball. Will they be successful? Who knows, but there is potential and I think it will be fun to watch.
