I agree it was a really bad trade. But he might’ve been on to something low key. Blew out Boston last night and it looks like Max was being held back on the lakers.

should’ve gotten knetch as well as every lakers pick for eternity… but i agree christie looks good

Maybe, if Harrison had done his job right and acquired those assets, we would’ve come up with Mark Williams.

eh mark williams is a huge gamble. i don’t know that he’s ready to be a championship level center, and he’s as injury prone as mitch.. maybe more. at least with mitch we know if he’s right he plays his role very well

Of course no one is beating a team that goes to the foul line almost each time they touch the basketball.

If he picks up his option, they should look to move him and get back some decent role players in return .

I think he leaves Minnesota and goes to Brooklyn for big money.

Brooklyn is the only team that will have a massive amount of cap space in the summer.

https://www.spotrac.com/nba/cap/_/year/2025/sort/cap_maximum_space_optimized/dir/desc

Chicago or Houston are the only two other options I could see for Randle if they find a way to create more cap space.

Maybe Memphis too.

I was thinking Brooklyn too. He'd def go there for the money. He still probably has property in NY area.

If he opts in he's getting traded for solid pieces, if he walks it's likely to Brooklyn. Rumors are the Wolves tried to get Durant at the deadline, likely with Randle being offered.

Naz is a 20 & 8 floor spacer who can get you a couple of blocks as a starter. Without KAT, he's the ideal PF to unlock their team.

Randle went down when the Wolves were losing to the Jazz in the 2nd quarter and after he left the game, the Wolves went on to destroy the Jazz.

Edwards didn't play in their loss to the Wizards....

They Lost by 2pts to the kings.

Then Won their next 2 without Randle and they're dominating their opponents. Wolves just look better without Randle.

Ant looks invincible again

Fam, the Blazers have become really fun to watch. Could be our team to follow in the West lol.

Nba.com wrote a nice piece on them. Ayton leading the team in scoring the past 10 games and Camara is one of the best defenders in the league (and people laughed at me when i said that! @guan0)

Through 51 games, the Blazers (22-29) have already topped last season’s win total (21) – and they're playing some of their best ball in years.

Portland enters Thursday’s matchup vs. Sacramento (10 ET, LP) riding a season-best five-game win streak with a 9-1 record in its last 10 – its best 10-game stretch since 2020-21.

The only blemish? A loss to the West-leading Thunder (24.15) – the only team that entered the season with an average younger roster than them (24.20).

“Obviously, we’re young,” said Blazers coach Chauncey Billups on Monday. “But I don’t allow those excuses … The longer this season goes, the more these guys become more familiar with one another…

”Our camaraderie and our chemistry is just really good. It’s really high.”

In their 9-1 stretch, seven Blazers are averaging 12+ ppg – more than any other team – and all of them except for Jerami Grant are 26 years old or younger.

In that same span, the team’s OffRtg has jumped from 27th in the NBA (108.4) to 9th (117.5).

Image

Stars Emerging: In terms of total points, January was the highest-scoring month of both Deni Avdija's (238) and Scoot Henderson’s (233) careers, highlighted by a season-high 39 points on Jan. 14 from Henderson – who was just named a Castrol Rising Star.

Front & Center: Meanwhile, Deandre Ayton joins Giannis as the only players to average 20+ pts and 10+ reb on 60%+ shooting over their last six games

On the other end, another Castrol Rising Star for Portland, Toumani Camara, has begun to cement himself as one of the league’s top young defenders.

Chaos Creator: Camara leads the NBA with 21 charges drawn and paces the Blazers in steals (68)

The Energy: With a minimum of 3 games played and 20 minutes per game, Camara boasts the 2nd-best DefRtg in the NBA amid the Blazers’ 9-1 run (101.1)

The Effect: In that span, Portland’s team DefRtg has sky-rocketed from 28th to 1st (104.7)

“Our team is so together right now,” said Billups. “I’m really proud of where we’re at … these guys are playing for one another.”

That Cavs trade was really done so we have nowhere to put Brunson, you could hide him on Dean Wade, but with Hunter he has to guard someone who can score whether it's Garland or Donovan, because Hunter is too big.

I believe the Lakers used the pick that Dallas wanted to trade for Williams.

Nico got played so badly

Scary if True

I read an article in Yahoo sports about 5 reasons why the Mavs traded Luka. Reason #5 is actually very scary:

It was announced that the Adelsons bought the team and Cuban would be heavily involved in decision making forever.
Now Cuban is sitting on the sidelines selling peanuts at games

Keep in mind, the Adelsons are the Oligarchs of sports betting in Vegas. <-- don't forget this

The Mavs said they wanted only AD, for defense, even though AD is more injured than Luka, he's much older, and Luka was getting better at defense. They also refused to ask around the league for highest big on Luka. For AD? A guy who really doesn't move the needle that much all by himself? And this trade was obviously NOT at the request of any players. They also said Luka would have wanted a super-Max. Well, he's a bargain at that level.

Remember the Adelsons and betting in Las Vegas? Good. They also tried to get the Texas governor to sponsor sports betting in Texas, but the legislature was NOT on board. It was a no-go.

So the Adelsons are merely using this trade to mess up the Mavs. They are threatenting to move the franchise to Las Vegas, where the NBA wants a presence.

Ruin the Mavs, either go to Las Vegas (upsetting Texas), or get sports betting controlled by the Adelsons.

The Adelsons are playing the long game and don't give a shyt about the Mavs. They just want to run sports betting in Texas.

Possible? It's freaking upsetting, because if this is true, it has NOTHING to do with basketball, except for the uber rich using basketball as a pawn in a bigger game.

The uber rich using everything and everyone as pawns without a care about it so they can get even more wealth? Shocked!
If you'd rather see your team fail so you can be right
...you are a fan of your opinion not the team.

I'm 99.5% sure that Luka was traded for non basketball reasons and that includes his conditioning.

Also, I saw him in uniform yesterday. He doesn't look remotely out of shape at all.
