Roster Spots - How Many and What To Do With Them

Orlando and Jamison being given multi-year unguaranteed deals is an option.

Battle being back in the lineup is something I missed. He is an elite shooter.

Orlando is just getting comfortable but he isn't the typical big for Toronto because he isn't a natural ball mover.

I still think Frank Kaminsky replicates what Kelly O does to a degree and was brought into the system intentionally. I would not be surprised if they signed him.

We desperately need a backup big and PJ passing on his defensive perspective to Scottie and our young guns is probably something valuable. Not sure if there’s anyone who wants PJ more than what we are looking for from him, but that’s just my own opinion.

We probably convert our two ways into proper contracts. Jamison Battle/Ulrich Chomche.

Side note: I’d like to see Ben Simmons on our team as backup PF/C.

Chomche is on a 2 year 2-way to halt the start of his rookie contract (so he can develop more), they arent going to start that clock before they have to.

I think we might as well bring in a shotblocker, even if he can't do anything else. I'm not sure Robinson is really up to it. Maybe we can draft one

Feels like we're gonna have a small bench next year assuming we draft a guard, which odds are we have to. Even if we like Chomchep (13 boards and 3 blocks tonight!), he presumably needs another year just to get to bad offensively (shooting like 51% in the G League and under 40% from the line).

is my guess at our lineup after trying to start RJ for a month and realizing our starting lineup is better with Agbaji in it, and our bench can't score without RJ and another starter in the game. Mogbo and Shead getting minutes too.

Jay Huff might have to go on the annoying list of cheap centers we should have signed. He won the G-League defensive player of the year and can shoot 3s. That seems like an obvious NBA backup 5, and he's playing well enough for Memphis. Anyone could have offered him a guaranteed deal after that, but Memphis got him on a 2-way and just gave him a 4 year deal (last 2 years unguaranteed) for cheap as hell after he played well for a month. I have no idea if there's an option like that out there this summer. Doesn't look like it sadly, but maybe in Europe or with the PDX 2nd?

We don't have any stretch Cs on our roster now with Olynyk gone. I can see the draft being solely dedicated to the C position. Maluach is in range and we need an interior defender, then either of the Ivisics would give us a different dimension with their shooting. If we're outside the top 3 I would guess this is what our front office is cooking up.
