Raptors Salary Situation

Post#1 » by Troubadour » Fri Feb 7, 2025 3:47 pm

Link: https://www.sportsnet.ca/article/how-raptors-cap-roster-picture-look-after-ingram-deadline-acquisition/

The headline: If the Raptors end up picking 5th in this year's draft, the Raptors have $39M to re-sign Brandon Ingram and fill three remaining roster spots. The better the pick, the less space there is to maneuver.

With max raises, Brandon Ingram's first year could start at $36,000,000 and still have an annual average value of $40.6M.

Pretty significant chance the Raptors are a tax-paying team or they've traded away a rotation player in 2025/2026.

it would be 39M for Ingram and 2 spots, since you can just operate at 14 man. can do it with 2 second round standard contracts thats below vet min. Boucher is probably gone though unless we want to go in the tax or Ingram takes an unexpected pay cut

Bobby just said in the new nba playoff teams will be tax teams. So he just said raptors are willing to be a tax team to keep this thing going. Likely won’t be next season but they year after once they get a full year to (I know two gonna hate this) EVALUATE!!!!
