I could see Harper coming off the bench as a back up before eventually going into the starting lineup. Flagg starts right away and RJ is either traded or goes to the bench.

We turned Siakam into a respectable shooter. He went from mid range to the corner and then extended. Barnes jumped the gun due to injuries and Darko's orders. I expect it to dial down and for him to focus on the corners and mid range going forward.

Siakam made a visible leap in his third season, and was shooting pretty well on long twos to begin with, even as a rookie. Got his middie going in his second season. Put them both together in his third season. His development arc is QUITE distinct from Scottie's. He was also a 41.% corner 3pt shooter in his third season, and has generally been a 38.3% corner shooter on his career to this point.

He responded well. Scottie has not. I don't consider them strongly comparable in that regard.

For sure, we should expect him to take fewer ATB 3s at this point. Fewer pull-ups, fewer catch-and-shoot 3s above the break. We should be posting him, getting him to cut more, heading out in transition, that sort of thing. His broader efficacy should increase for us as his volume comes down and his creation load drops as well.

Siakam played with much better players that got him very open looks. Barnes needs to continue shooting pull up mid range shots and developing his talent there. The corner is pretty much a mid ranger and if he gets time to set up and get it off he'll hit more from there. You said it yourself he's shooting worse this season from the corner, it's because our injuries.

My dude. Horsecrap. Of his 5.0 3PA/g this year, 2.3 of them are with a defender more than 6 feet away. 2.5 of them are with a defender 4-6 feet way. He's not suffering from an issue with quality of look, he's just bricking open 3s.

Sure. While we lower his overall volume and responsibility, while shifting him more to higher-percentage looks, yes.

I like Scottie, I think he'll be a valuable piece on our team, but this is a clearly-evident weakness in his game.

I think the idea of having Scottie as a pass first co-star & Poeltl as a good screener,. roll man & passer makes the situation appealing for a scorer like Ingram. Both good defenders as well.

I think having Ingram may limit Gradey's role a bit, which will help with GD's efficiency.

We are not tanking next year regardless of BI trade. Lavine was just traded. Goes to show no contract is untradeable. The point is to build up and be in position to offer value when the next all star or superstar is available(Giannis)

I think BI misses playing with a big dude like JV all those years in NO.

Jak is obviously the better defender whereas JV has a lot of go-to moves in the post and will get his buckets. Jak has that push shot and that's about it.

Is that going to be relevant to Ingram's game, though? We'll be moving the ball through Scottie and RJ enough to spell him, in theory, so it's not like there won't be other things. JV was a nice scorer on mid volume, for sure, but like, he also got in the way of anyone trying to get into the paint (as would any big there who can't fade out for a J a ton).

Most of the shots we see on those highlight packages...difficult contested shots. Having a big guy eliminate a defender frees him up for better looks. That's the benefit of a 7 footer for a shooter. BI has had Steven Adams for years and then JV for the rest of it. Yves Missi probably comes close but he doesn't have the bulk that those other 2 centres had.

Watching BI highlights reminds me of those Ace Bailey highlight videos. Both are long, athletic and can hit shots over almost everyone. They both are known for making difficult shots but if the schemes are in place to make those shots easier...then why not?
