ECF MVP was Brown. Finals MVP was Brown. White had bigger moments than Tatum. Jrue was a huge part of why we won the Finals. Tatum was bricking shots, going 39% from the field and 26% from 3 in the Finals.
Tatum led the Cs in points per game, rebounds per game, and assists per game in that 16-3 postseason record.
And JT played good defense too.
Basketball is more than just scoring.
Yup, that’s why he lost every award that’s his for the taking. Thay’s why he got disrespected in the olympics lol. Fact is, he shot so poor, and continued to jack up 3’s and brick them, missing important shots in the clutch, then Jaylen hitting clutch shots after clutch shots thru out the playoffs, while guarding the best player on the opposite team. Jaylen deserved the awards he got. I thought JT getting finals mvp would have been the best scenario, but he’s just low in bbiq, that he continued to jack up 3’s. The moment he realized, its better to attack the basket, it was too late. If he did that game 1 of the finals, he would have gotten the award without a doubt.
Yeah, I agree with most of what you said.
But here's the thing, JT already has 2 game winning shots, as time expired, this season.
That leads the NBA and he's one of the best clutch players this season.
There's a post above, about the clutch stats this season, that proves that.
While JT jacking up 3s is not ideal, I think he's just practicing for the big moments.
Don't know if you're old enough but Michael Jordan's game winning shots were mostly jumpers.
In game winning situations, you will not get a good shot driving to the basket.
It's either you get fouled or you end up shooting over multiple defenders.
So the only way you get a good look at a game winning shot is by shooting a jumper or a 3-pointer.
I think that's what JT is trying to simulate.
Ray Allen made the biggest shot of his career when he made that game tying 3-pointer of Game 6 of the 2013 NBA Finals.
We should let it play out.
If by 30 years old JT is still doing the jacking up 3s then it is what it is.
But I highly doubt that.
I think right now JT is just mastering the ability to make difficult shots.
