He's better than Knecht. Too many talking heads for my liking that have barely watched both players this season

He's absolutely better defender, bigger pesk thats for sure. I see the solid 2way potential. Kencht is nice too tho

Well deserved. Got about the same survival chance as Thatcher would have had visiting north of england. and they had parties and basicly danced on her grave when she died. Oh and the witch is dead hit no1 on their musiclist that week. There is no coming back from this for him. He is like a pedo in prison, or that straemer in korea whatever his name. I give him max a week before he resigns. He has done his job for Nike now. Sent the Jordan golden child to Lakers and got Nikes unibrow to Dallas. Bet he will have a new Nike job soon

Did Nico not see this response coming? Gtfo I have zero sympathy for him, boohoo he can't leave his mansion and had to hire security to patrol his gardens. Get out of here, dudes looking for sympathy, I got none left for him. Maybe he'll get a clue, leave the team and move out of Dallas if he doesnt feel welcome anymore.

I don’t know about you, but if you made a trade that drove people to these depths, it probably was not a good trade. Just speaking randomly off the cuff here.

A statement on local sports radio today was, that if you couldn't comprehend beforehand what would be the fallout as a result of your trade, you might not be qualified to be GM.

Folks are silly, a trade like this does not go down without the owners pushing it. Why have all this smoke for Nico when he was just doing what he was told?

Do you think getting rid of everyone close to Luka started last weekend? It started with coaches, medical staff, Dfs and so on, long before delsons took over. If it were to cut costs, they wouldnt have traded for AD on a bigger and longer contract. They would just have played out the season, signed him to supermax and traded him on being locked up for 5 years for a ridicolous amount of picks. Its all Nicos doing, he were scared luka would come back and win the title, and then it would be luka that won the title, not him. His ego is out of the world. I mean, how can u not even read up on who u gonna sign to Nike but call steph seth and have such a cornercutting attitude that u bring KD material in the proposal?

Racist remarks are not cool. But death threats? He can afford security. This trade has hurt countless people mentally. People watch sports to escape from the misery of everyday life. There will literally be people who take their own lives because this trade sent their already fragile mental health into the gutter. Nico is a dirtbag and I have no sympathy for him. Whether he was the mastermind or just taking orders (and I do think it was the latter), he was still the one who pulled the trigger.

Occam's razor is a problem-solving principle that suggests the simplest explanation is usually the best one.

Is Mavs ownership group in trouble financially?

It's not unusual in sports for cheap or lacking funds owner to refuse to pay a superstar. Teams in that situation usually trade for draft picks.

There is no indication that new ownership are "hands on" owners.

This move is already costing the Mavericks money, will there will be a net gain from this?

The only ones saying that are national people who are not close to the team. And some of them don't want to come down on Nico.

Nonone that covers the Mavericks locally are saying that, at least that I am aware of. They are the ones close to the team. They know more than the national guys. They are saying Nico had Luka fatigue.

There is a local report that Luka really did come into camp out of shape this year.

Nico Harrison spent his last 23 years as an exec in the corporate world. That's how they operate.

The reason Mark Cuban brought Nico here was because Nico had relationships with players around the league. Nico has had a relationship with Anthony Davis since Anthony was in high school. Local report is Nico has wanted Anthony Davis here for some time.

Nico did not draft Luka. Was not a part of the Mavs organization when the Mavs acquired Luka.

If you have Luka on your team, you aren't playing conventional basketball. Some people don't like that. Even some Mavericks fans don't like that.

Even fans of Luka who love him get frustrated with him at times for multiple reasons (myself included). Luka fatigue is a real thing.

Charles Barkley and Kendrick Perkins believe the Mavericks became a better team as a result of the trade. There are probably others. Luka has always had his nay sayers for multiple reasons. Still does.

It's not difficult to understand Nico's thinking on this. Luka fatigue. Conventional basketball. His connection with and desire for Anthony Davis. There was tension between Nico and Luka if you listen to the Mavs and Lakers pressers. Nico has no long term plan to be an NBA exec. He's "going for it" in his mind.

Not uncommon in sports for an exec to want to put his own stamp on things.

But of course, this trade is historic. Listen though to Nico in the presser. He does not come across in any form or fashion as a guy who hated the idea of trading Luka Doncic. Nico told you why he traded him. Some agree this makes the Mavericks a better basketball team. It was pure tone deafness from Nico in the presser, and hubris. He obviously had no clue to what he was getting into (which says a lot about Nico)

i really think this came from upstairs but that being said the pelinka/nica friendship is not to be dimissed

people seem to be stupified by a common occurrence in life, and that is people deal with people who they have cultivated friendships with. not only do you trust them and they trust you, but you want to help them and they you.

this was an "i scrub your back and you scrub mine" deal

and for those who think pelinka did nothing and it just fell into his lap, it was HIS lap it fell into. part of the business is the network you build. if what nico said was not total bs, where else was he going to get a big time center to offset the loss of luka. no matter how big a package anyone else was going to bring,,,,IT WASN'T GOING TO INCLUDE ANTHONY DAVIS

there's going to be additional fallout about what happened behind the scenes and i'm wondering if there's ever going to be a review of the adelson's and if they'll be brought to the carpet
