He should use the next 9 months to get into the best shape possible, I'm excited.

I have this sour taste from the Rudy Gay trade but this isn't the same thing thankfully, they are diff players and diff situations.

Agreed. Once Jrue and a couple of their guys leave we'll be right there. As for the Cavs I can't take them seriously yet, Knicks can be actually dangerous.

gay was a desperation trade for a floundering team. very different situation. if anything, the siakam trade is like the rudy gay trade away from toronto. we secured a bunch of impactful pieces that should help us win games in the future.

Also gay didn’t even wanna be here… I’m pretty sure he was on a podcast recently and he shat on us… him and bosh are former raptors I don’t give a **** about… Ingram actually likes Toronto

I think we are at the level of the Knicks before KAT and Cavs before Mitchell

But we got a lottery pick coming in who I hope is franchise altering on his own.

Bright future ahead.

It would be a very "Toronto luck" result, though.

I gotta say, I no longer feel this way. The title cleansed everything for me apart from some vestiges of dislike for Vince, Babcock and Bargnani.

We're one of the 11 teams that have won a title since we've been around. Kawhi coming to us and staying healthy and getting the (fairly standard but still, not all teams get it) injury luck with the Warriors we did in the finals. I'm still feeling lucky.

Glad people are starting to come around after the reassurance that the pick is goal #1.

There’s risk involved, but we got a great talent on the cheap to hope if we can take a big leap.

I don't think we've seen the best of Brandon Ingram yet, and Darko's system is really going to elevate him. I think it'll cause him to adjust his shot diet in favour of creating for others as well.

I also feel like Scottie can learn some things from Brandon to make his offense more potent as well. Scottie shares Ingram's length advantages, while also having the strength to add a new dimension to those tools. I have a good feeling about the impact this will bring.

Gay may not have liked it here, but he was under contract beyond the season he was traded here. I think a good comparison is remember when we traded JO for Shawn Marion at the trade deadline when we were already well out of the playoff picture? He made us win too many games near the end of that season, that we ended up with the 9th pick (to draft DeRozan - though we could have drafted Curry or Harden had we lost more games). Then Marion was a FA and left. We used that capspace to sign Hedo LOL.

I'm not convinced his latest injury is that bad. Not really a secret NO was shopping him. High ankle sprain occurred...trade talks heat up with teams...pels ask him to continue being "injured" ingram until they trade him.

I bet we see him sooner than we think unless raptors ask him to continue being "injured" for the tank.

How can we expect a player that was never healthy to suddenly become healthy? If we load manage Ingram we're going to struggle to get into the playoffs. This trade didn't make sense on several levels. Masai has a problem paying for players that can't even suit up. The injury excuse isn't real, don't overpay snowflakes that can't dress for the game.

BI's injury history is scary, for sure. This is what I am scared of the most. But the Raps front office also basically only sent out a late first round pick. It's a smart risk.

No we won't.

Who is our Tatum?

If we find our 1A scorer this year in the draft, this team can compete in 2-3 years. Y'all are completely deluded if you think we're going to be competitive next year. We'll compete for a 6-10 seed, sure, but nothing higher than that.
