i imagine KAT can play as little as 24 minutes at the 5, leaving a max of 24 backup minutes available. gotta think those belong to mitch.

i don't think mitch plays more than 24mpg. he is playing whatever KAT leaves behind at the 5. if KAT plays even 10 backup minutes at the 4 alongside mitch, that's damn near all the backup 4 minutes from OG. (you might even have the luxury of getting mitch up to 28mpg and have more KAT at the 4 and less OG overall.)

any way you slice that 4/5 situation up, precious is out of the 9-man rotation, let alone hukporti.

bench rotation players will have to be mitch, deuce, cam, and the best wing you've got. shamet? delon might have a shot to show something. dadiet and mccullar might be more next year ideas.

I think we willl see more situational sets …gasp thibs adapting

i too am noticing more fluidity in the lineups. i know it tends to be a zero-sum argument for warring factions. but we also might be seeing the impact of players being more healthy and ready to contribute as the season has progressed.

so long as the coaching is comfortable with the players on the floor knowing how to play together, i'm good with whatever.

also, in my minutes thoughts, i didn't go into how that could be impacted by times we want to go thibs small... AKA normal size

if we can make two-big lineups work throughout the span of games, **** could get spooky. it'll help us dominate the glass and reduce wing minutes that have spilled into the 4.

i'm excited all around for this phase of the season and glad to see the fruits of the journey so far. hoping hukporti can stay ready for his as needed minutes. also could be good prep in case we don't keep precious and/or mitch beyond this year.
RIP magnumt

thanks for everything, thibs.

He must have bought a case of JD and the straight shot albums.

Huk always looks like he is moving too much, like on defense you move your feet, but he looks like he is hopping around not in control of his own legs.

This. It was always the case. It's hard to fault fans for reacting to things as they take place but it was always a matter of simply being patient and waiting.

For those what to see rookies play: it isn't uncommon for rookies to really start hitting thier groove until after or just before the trade deadline, especially on a contending team. Nothing wrong did or however we treat our rookies was out of line historically for what most teams do. There are teams with lottery picked players that wait until right about now to start really giving thier guys minutes......at least late lottery teams close to the play-in.

For those who wanted to see veteran bench guys get more burn. At least this argument was a bit more reasonable but Precious was hurt, Shamet was hurt, Deuce at one point got hurt. And Mitch is still hurt. And none of these injuries were "Thibs did it" injuries. We came into the year with these injuries and now guys are healthy with some of them coming out of minute restrictions and hitting the same groove the starters needed to find

TIME. You just had to wait for it. Everything you watched so far was ramp up to a full rotation that wouldn't be fully available until right about now.

largely agree. and keeping this conversation on hukporti, we can hopefully see the fruits of the work he's been putting in that he's getting such praise for now. looking forward to his continued growth. he's an exciting prospect who plays with energy and is fun to watch. haven't seen the offensive bag yet, but i see some hartenstein to his game. would be a great development trajectory for him. i think he's a passion project.
