Thank Christ this didn’t happen. I imagine one of Portis or Cannaughton would’ve been rerouted elsewhere, but yikes.

If this guy a legit NBA writer?.... his X account has been around since 2016, but it says he's written for ESPN,.. the only Sean Wright I can find in their articles,.. was an intern, but didn't write for them? Some of his takes (over the years) seem like the bot takes that seem to be coming up all over the place these days?....

But I know I don't have the knowledge of these guys,.. or the resources that you do.

Also couldn't find any mention of this anywhere else,... and us trading in division, with the Bucks,.. would have gotten someone's attention?

When I try to look him up via Depaul,... these come up:

Sean Wright: There is a controversy surrounding a Twitter user named Sean Wright who claims to be a journalist reporting on the Milwaukee Bucks, but there is no credible proof of his existence or his credentials. He is suspected of using a stock image for his profile picture, and his account seems to have been created recently.

https://www.reddit.com/r/MkeBucks/comments/oxwdao/comment/h7p5y53/

Apparently,... his headshot is a stock photo (evidence is on the reddit page),... and the only stories that can be verified are uncredited redirects from publicly published stories. - His NItter page claims the stock photo is him,... but that he was paid to be a 'stock photo' for other uses.

He does seem to have an extensive background on Nitter?...

The book on his NItter page,... isn't listed by New York Times best seller list,... nor is he identified as a NYT BS list author, can't find any reference for it on any of the current or historical publishing records, including the referenced publisher Scholastic? This isn't my area,.. so it could exist,... but it doesn't show up easily to normal research methods.

Getting kinda sad,.. when you have to spend more time researching the bylines,.. than the players or the teams,... :(

If Silver actually wanted to do something to help the game, the players, the teams, & the fans,... he would find a way to do something about this? I mean, they are all using the league symbols, NBA. But yeah,.. he more interested in doing something that, in his own mind, will secure his legacy (visibility) for generations,.... just my opinion.

Great find.

Also, whenever I see someone that wrote “Featured on”, I generally view them as fake as that means almost nothing specific. And he retweets the likes of Steve Kyler, a known bad “newsbreaker”?

I never put stock in him to begin with. Let alone after Bucks fans seem to have him as a fake.

Also, he doesn’t seem to cultivate his Twitter except around transaction series. No other writings. No beat work. Goes silent for months or a year at a time. Pretty sketchy.

This does not seem like a good fit. At all.

‪iPacers.com - Derek Kramer‬

Alex Len will sign with the Pacers after being waived by the Wizards according to Shams.

There’s the third center for the team, Pacers may have decided to figure this out quickly after Turner’s neck strain.

I agree he's not a fit for how our first two units play, but they have OBI as a small ball option for that spot. I can see Len as providing a more physical option when we need something that Bryant can't provide. given that there were centers available with better outside shots, I think the team must have something else in mind for the third center.

I don’t think there were, though?

So just Mo Bamba as a possible shooter? I’d have taken that risk instead, just for style, but don’t know Indy’s views of him.

I think Tyrese has some input. Perhaps others do too.

Buried in the story is that Len and Tyrese were on the Kings together some so Ty has an opinion on him.

Len is a rough fit but ideally he won’t be playing at all. Bamba is probably looking for more minutes and Len and Zeller are similar to the point it probably makes sense to grab the guy Haliburton knows.

Theis probably would’ve been my first choice.

Yeah,... looking just at make up, demonstrated skills, with the way the Pacers play,... I would have put Bamba, then Theis, Len, Zeller,...

I think, from some small sentences in other stories,... Bamba was looking to stay out west? He's been doing some recording in LA & apparently sees that as his future? (A couple of pundits went so far as to question his commitment to basketball?) Theis, skills wise is a good fit, but he doesn't match up well with big centers, which would be something we need in a 3rd center? Theis is physical,.. doesn't back down, but he isn't 7 foot. Unfortunately for us,... that kinda leaves Len & Zeller.

I think Len has a bit more to offer than Zeller, and as you mentioned, he and Tyrese played a year together. Must offset that Zeller was an Indiana schoolboy & IU Alum?...... Really hoping we see a lot of Len,... cheering from the bench, and not on the floor unless it's a blowout.

Yeah we’re probably discussing about 100 minutes of basketball total over the rest of the season. This move is marginal and ideally Len doesn’t play at all. He’ll be fine at setting screens and boxing out for 3 minutes a game I guess.

LOLOL - yeah,.. I'm hoping it doesn't get to 100 minutes. :D But it's still a BB conversation,... which at least for me is a good thing.

If you remember how the Theis situation ended the first go round, you know that he’s never a possibility to return while Carlisle is the coach here

Some of those Charlotte fans are wildly emotional about the LAL/CHA trade.

Someone called me Dr. Pepper for simply sharing my opinion lol

I get it. It sucks for all. It’s partially why I think teams should push to get deals done a day or two before the deadline, as they could have renegotiated or flipped to make other swaps. But, once the deadline passed, the teams could only choose to complete the trade as is, or rescind it completely. Which sucks.

Yeah,... I think they should have a grace period of a few days? 3 or maybe 5? Can't submit a new trade to the league,... but can finalize & finish a trade that has already been filed (including renegotiate terms if something new comes up),... if it isn't done in the grace period,.. they can still complete it, but the players are ineligible for the playoffs?...
