Jared McCain with more hops?
BK should not let him past the Bucks pick at #19 right now.

Jakobe Walter measurements were 6'4.25 without shoes at the combine. VJ is definitely shorter

Jakobe is 6'8 with the hair.

How do ppl feel about Danny Wolf in Rd 2 (if he drops that far)? I'm a Michigan fan so I'm prob biased. And he does have heavy feet. But he's deceptively smooth, 7'1" and his p&r game is nice.

Better value than Kelly Olynyk being drafted in the lottery before Giannis.
I'd rather Alex Condon since additional defense and quicker feet and a lob threat. Condon is more raw but I think his pro potential is better.

Unfortunately I think he’s the pick if we’re 6. Him or Khaman
I’m kinda out on him this high in the draft but I can see the Raps believing in their developmental system
For the Raptors it’s probably:
Copper
Harper
Ace
VJ
Kasp
Egor
Khaman
Essengue

Wonder if he'll be there at #40? Probably not at this rate.
He gets beat off the dribble less than you'd expect. Passing is special. With NBA spacing, it might really be something, particularly good at hitting the center on a variety of passes. He's kind of a turnover machine, but he's also co-running point guard, whereas in the pros you'd expect more DHO high post big man passing reads and less running pick and rolls.
Huge hands, palms the ball easily unlike most college kids.
Hard to know what kind of shooter he's gonna be. Bad on FTs, pretty good on 3s, form looks good, takes fadeaways (hit a lovely one today) and off the dribble shots, but also the long 2s aren't really going in.
I think I like him better on D than someone like Olynyk, better passer. Worse finisher. The skill and development would be fun to bet on as a perimeter big for us, might be a decent fit with Barnes, Mogbo (both can guard the better big on O and we can play 5 out or they can avoid shooting 3s!) and maybe even Chomche one day (we'll need more skill around him to compensate unless he develops a ton offensively).
Did you see the game today? First time I've seen Mgbako. Looks like an NBA wing, really nice shooter, but also he seemed to never get into 2nd gear. An unathletic white kid (Goode the Illini transfer) made all the loose ball type plays and Mgbako only ever seemed to run hard when going for an offensive rebound, though I didn't notice him getting bit on defence a ton. Non-existent first half, scored a bunch in the 2nd half to help bring them back. Not surprised his steal and FT rates are so bad.
Kinda gave the vibes of a guy who might stick around in the league because he's 6'8 and can shoot, but won't really play a ton, because he won't do much other than score fairly efficiently but at a low usage. It's always hard to tell if someone's activity level is low because of physical limitations, or they haven't been coached into playing hard, or if they can develop competitive fire, but he really didn't seem to have that dog in him. A shame, because you see him catch and shoot and you think "that's a backup NBA wing, sure."
Where's the D?

Demin is so **** bad at basketball and I know for a fact Dean will do everything in his power to make sure they stay as far away as possible from him.

Smokescreen possible. They usually won't hint what their target is.

That's my only concern with him. He can learn how to dribble + shoot. He's just so freaking small.

Re: 2025 NBA Draft Prospect Part 3
I've barely seen him play, but I wonder if Carter Bryant is gonna end up rising and going top 10. 6'8 wing, supposed to have a 7 foot wingspan and he's got higher ST and BLK rates than Flagg. Bad A/TO, but shooting well from 3 and 2 (only 18/30 on FTs, which isn't great, but pretty small sample). Arizona has several archetypal "college guards who don't pass enough" guys that can depress a freshman's stats.
His stats suggest a guy who maybe can't really dribble or pass well enough yet, but blocks like an average center, steals like a frisky PG and he's 6'8 and shoots the 3 well. Good defensive rep I think? That's a very high 3+D floor, even if he doesn't develop an offensive game in 3-4 years like Trey Murphy has now done.

He's going to be a bust. He has poor positional skills and size. I have McNeeley being the better player long term on both sides of the floor. People love the athleticism but it's not going to do anything for him in the league.

McNeeley is a Kispert with better defense. There is a spot for him on any team in the league. Edgecombe is going to be ''developed'' his entire rookie deal, signed to a large dumb deal, and then rot on a bench somewhere. If you knew how to read stats you would see that McNeeley is the best stationary shooter in the draft.

Re: 2025 NBA Draft Prospect Part 3
Watching the Florida-Auburn game and the Haugh kid - a sophomore - I've never heard of just jumped comically high. And he's shooting 82% from the line? I don't think he's on the radar for this draft (though apparently was the #42 player on 247) but if you can run, jump and shoot at 6'9. He's really active. Shooting 30% from 3, but the FT numbers are better long-term anyways. Doesn't seem like he's looking to score much, so kind of a white Mogbo deal where he might be a useful NBA player if he can hit a corner 3.
Fun game, just turned it on 5 minutes ago. Makes the Michigan-Indiana game I watch look comically unathletic.
Pettiford looks really quick and like has a nice handle. He's small, though.
Can see why Condon has fans. Much more fluid than Broome, who is statistically the best player in the country. And he makes decisions quickly. Great handle and passing for a center. Add like 20 pounds and that's an intriguing center prospect. Right now he looks like he'd get bullied. Not sure how you project if a guy can put on weight, but he already looks way more talented than a similar player like Ighodaro.
Just a huge gap between last year's draft and this year's draft. The Nets having 4 firsts might really bring them a starter or 2 and a couple good bench guys. I wonder if we can still grab another first in an RJ deal.

McNeeley is better than Kneuppel, but he’s not better than VJ. He’s going to be a long term guy in the NBA, but VJ has star potential. Like I said earlier, I can see VJ being a DWade style player. Obviously, a guy like Dion Waiters was a DWade style guy too. I’m not sure where VJ lands on that spectrum. I can actually see him being closer to a much smaller Jimmy Butler, minus the attitude. Which is a worse player than DWade, but much better than Dion Waiters.
Elite slashing ability with great defensive potential. All he needs is a jumper to be lethal, and tbh it’s not that far off. VJ might be ranked ahead of Ace in redrafts. If he’s smaller, around 6’2” I’d take him over Quick in the starting lineup long term and look to either make Quick the 6th man, or move him.
As for McNeeley, I have him in that Bogdanovic category at his ceiling. The good one, not the one who just got dealt to LA. I can see him being a solid bucket getter who teams covet. If we fall past 9-10 I’d start considering him.
