Whether that will make the GM look better or worse... isn't really relevant. Not like much would change if a new GM was hired. You can't undo trades and you won't magically get new assets by changing names.

No point in trying to be miserable or hoping that the team sucks. But each person is unique... and at this stage... it seems many fans are still electing to feel miserable.

For now, it'd be a good start if they played this game with extra emotion and defeated the Houston Rockets.

I want Nico's head. No matter how. I want his head now.

I know that Luka is gone but i'm very scared of what that man can do next summer... He has to make moves and all our assets+ picks for KD is a real option. No way. No **** way.

Go out of Texas stupid moron.

Nick brought you Max Christie and you want the man's head on a spike?

Dirk, no offense here... But we traded Luka Doncic.

What do you want me to care about Max Christie????

He is a good prospect, we can find good prospect every year... We can't find another Luka Doncic.

We can't?

Let's ask Archx to go to gyms in Slovenia and look for very tall people dribbling the basketball who like burek a bit too much. I bet he can find us 2-3 Lukas!

Problem is, you have to win now, there is no other way. Literally finals or even a championship or Nico better relocate to North Pole. Losing in 1st or 2nd round will be a total and complete disaster, specially the way this went down and what was said in that press conference when Nico was literally mocking the trade.

It is a bit complex.

Very few people believe this trade made the Mavs better. So will it be a disaster if the team loses early in the playoffs? Most people expect the Mavs to not be a serious threat and likely to lose 'early'.

We will have to see the context when we get there, to understand the sort of pressure that the Mavs/GM do get. For now, the "disaster" already happened... for whatever reason they didn't even let this current team play out the season.

I don't exactly understand many fan's mentality. We are all adults and rational beings... they can just get lost and not watch the Mavs. They don't have to perpetually cry about a trade or how bad it will be, etc.

Since the trade was quite lousy... just two good players back and a future pick... it's not like a new GM would have a lot of ability to change things and stuff. I hope the GM does get fired if the Mavs lose early, but the biggest damage is done already... so probably... the rational thing is to just try to enjoy the team and let Nico continue to cook and see where this takes us.

We cannot change the past. We can just move on or move out.

I was joking.

In essence:

I believe it's pointless to cry about trades forever. Player is not coming back. And a new GM doesnt have a ton of ways to improve the team.

Best we can hope for is good basketball and a healthy team the rest of the season!

Yes Dirk, i've understand it too late... I'm slow like Kidd in those days

Nobody think that a new GM can make miracle and turn this roster in a conteder again(Mavs was a contender just 8days ago. Damn.).

We just want this fraud out of Dallas, he lost the fans respect and trust.

More like Nico will join Pelinka and laugh together and celebrate another Mavs' loss meaning one step closer to move to Vegas. After the game, they also get busy.

I'm not so sure moving the Mavs to Vegas would be a bad idea.

Then we could get an expansion team in Dallas and at least have the draft to look forward to.

Right now we have nothing to look forward to but a few broken down washed up tier two players trying to lead us to a championship in a realistic two year window.

Damn I am still fuming and everyday is getting worse.

Last team to win a finals with a defensive identity was the Pistons. And that was in a different era, where rules didn't favor offense like they do today. LOL LOL LOL on the idea of this team getting farther than last years team.

This "win now" stuff is insanity. It was already "win now" with Luka... and for the next 12 years.

We had a 12 year window with Luka.

Defense + transcendent player is the formula, which we had. Last year's Celtics were an anomaly, and noone is built like them.

It's difficult to navigate these times.

Each person just has to ensure that they do the best for themselves and others. Meaning... a lot of people like to be depressed and depress others... daily negative things and daily "I am leaving the Mavs". At a certain point... that sort of mentality makes no sense...

If one can't enjoy a team... best to try and make a rational decision to bail on it for the time being, rather than constantly be negative and gloomy.

(I am not talking about the forum. I mean in general... "Mavs media" is full of doom, depression and "look at me, I am so sad" type things)

I meant it from the perspective of how this deal went down and what Nico was saying.

No one is questioning AD's ability.

We question about his sustainability.

Zion Embiid Kawhi can all play. They are nba all stars for god sake. But they are as useless as us when they are on the bench.
Everyone has a right to be stupid. Some just abuse the privilege.

Of course not, but first 10 to 15 years seems reasonable :p

On a serious note, it's not like this happened a few years ago, but rather a few days ago. People are simply disappointed, feel betrayed by management and the wound is still fresh. Give it some time.
