GT #52: ATL Hawks @ Bullets 7 PM (MonSportsNet/980 AM)

Post#1 » by FAH1223 » Sat Feb 8, 2025 8:58 pm

YOUR Washington Bullets are 9-42!

After a 3-game winning streak, the Bullets lost at home to the East-leading Cavs on Friday night.

It was a competitive game and Keefe had only 9 players available post-trade deadline. Khris Middleton will continue to be out due to rest. Malcolm Brogdon is good to go. Alex Sarr remains out. Marcus Smart is also out.

Tonight, the Bullets host the Hawks. They are coming off a victory against the Giannis-less Bucks (who also saw Kuzma make his debut).

If you recall, 2 out of the 9 victories for the Bullets this season have been against Atlanta.

Will the trend continue?

With Middleton, Sarr Smart, Gill, & Bey out, plus maybe Kyshaun as well, & Jones not yet on the roster, we should get to see a whole lot of Johnson. I hope Martin is available as well -- be great to see more of the kids!

"Trade Pending..." seems ominous. Is someone not going to pass a physical? Here we don't care, we don't need Smart on court, but I wonder if Bagley's knee sprain is the issue. He hasn't played since December 23. Not sure how the trade would be reversed given all the roster slots filled etc.

God, Vujevic's picks are significantly worse than Sarr's, I'd even say much worse.

I know we're supposed to be rooting for tank losses, but have I ever mentioned how much I loathe Trae Young? I hate everything about him. I hate his showboating. I hate his expressions, which rotate between a smirk and an aggrieved cry-baby face. I hate his stupid fluffy hair. So I am very happy to see the Wiz ahead at the end of the first quarter, and I very much want them to win this game. Anything that makes Trae Young miserable is all right by me.

The Wizards won't win if Jordan Poole keeps launching threes as he has been.

He's 0/3 so far after going 4/17 against Cleveland. Twenty percent is NOT good.
Tre Johnson is the future of the Wizards.

He just missed a three and got his own miss, then drove and made a no look pass for a Holmes dunk.

So there's that atleast.

This young Wizards version is so much more enjoyable to watch.

They are all defending with effort and moving the ball well. Let it continue!

Only down 5 at halftime despite shooting 3-16 from 3-point range.

Poole has 4 assists and 4 turnovers, that's not good. Bringing in Kispert and Vujevic off the bench is not a good pairing defensively though our starters suck defensively too so, can they really be much worse?

Kieff throwing the game away by playing Justin Champagnie as center with 4 guards…

Just looked at the box score, he dropped 20 on nice efficient shooting but also he and Justin Champagnie were -20 on +/-, much the worst on the team. Jordan Poole, despite his turnovers and inability to hit 3's, was the team's best at +1.
