Game 51: Sixers at Bucks - 2/9/25 - 1:00 p.m. -ABC - Giannis Out

Post#1 » by MickeyDavis » Sat Feb 8, 2025 2:22 pm

The front end of our 3rd B2B in 13 days and our third 3 in 4 in that same timeframe. Insane.

A full Sixers team lost to Detroit Friday night. No idea if Giannis will play. National game so if he's only going to play 1 of these games it will probably be this one. Most likely to see Sims for the first time (he didn't participate in the shootaround in Atlanta, no surprise he didn't play Friday night). I don't expect much from him but Brook's minutes need to be reduced.

It sucks we get great home Sixers and Warriors games and it's another damn B2B.

Hubie's last game as an announcer at 91. Back in Milwaukee, where he got his NBA coaching start in 1972.

As usual please limit the posts in this thread to this game only. THX.

Sims needs to get some burn (and he will). I have a hard time thinking we traded for him just to rot on the bench.

I’m sure Porter Jr will play on either end of the B2B too.

I’ll be at the game tomorrow. I always enjoy a good afternoon game in MKE even if the players don’t

I also forgot that it’s Hubie’s last game. He’s obviously lost a step to due age but I’ve always really enjoyed him as a color commentator.

Should be a good game, with or without Giannis playing.

Legit, Think we might be a play in team.

Schedule is pretty brutal.

Hubie's last game?

Wish I could dial up the video of Bucks-Celts ca 2019 (maybe) where he anticipates Giannis slamming it immediately after catching a feed while on the move with an understated "There you go."

We broker no criticism of Hubes here at Chonestown HQ.

It's his last game, because he's taking over for Doc. The ghost of Larry Costello will be hard to stop. I was there for it all.

Hubie has more reasons to call this game as his last than Giannis v. Embiid, yet it's still sad they won't be a part of it

I hope Doc realizes sooner than later that we need to play Sims and KPJ 25+ mpg just to see if there is anything there, even if we lose just do it. If KPJ can create his own offense at all that's a huge win for us. And if Sims can play just a little bit of defense and move his feet that would be another huge win.

We are just so pathetic from the 5 and 2 spot, it's honestly embarrassing 50% of the games if not more.

Getting back home against a bad team will be nice. Feel like this one comes down to which one of Dame or Maxey makes enough shots.

Win for Hubie. Also, I'm hoping Bobby has a huge game, as Hubie will love it. That's likely too, as Bobby rocks as a starter.

I'll tune in to hear Hubie. Amazing that he's been doing it for so long. Always a joy to listen to on the broadcast - even at 91, he's better prepared and more educational any of the color commentators out there. It's cool that we're getting his last game.

Almost pulled the trigger on tickets for my family of 5. Glad I checked the thread first and saw Giannis is out.

Microcosm of one of the leagues many problems.

I get what you’re trying to say but don’t think this is the example to use. He has a bad calf…so it’s not a rest management thing.
