Windhorst: Knecht/Williams trade rescinded... so what now?

Post#1 » by SkyBill40 » Sun Feb 9, 2025 2:17 am

So it would seem that not all is great in LA LA land. Will they be able to get it fixed? Since the trade deadline has come and gone, this makes for a sizable hole in the middle to be filled by someone else.

Williams injuries must be pretty bad for his long-term prognosis.

Seems like lakers agreed in a hurry but with stipulations they were comfortable with his medicals… and they probably weren’t.

The drama never stops with the Lakers.

Jaxson Hayes gonna dunk his way to a MLE contract in the summer.

There was a reason why most (correctly) thought it was an overpay

Jesus, just complete the trade. Lakers are pathetic for rescinding this. They knew he was injury prone going in.

They can't. The deadline has passed so it cannot be amended.

That's a massive blow to the Lakers chance THIS year. Hopefully this gets Charlotte some.extra win to ruin their odds for Cooper lol

Good, Williams is injury prone and overrated. LA gets to keep Knecht; that's a W.

Take back 2030 swap and 2031 pick and offer to waive the injury condition. So basically Knecht for Williams. That’s a risk I’d be willing to take on Williams health going forward.

Lakers got bailed out.

No need to overpay here. Keep your assets and make a big splash in the offseason.

That’s a bummer. If healthy I felt like he would’ve put us on par with OKC.

The Hornets tried to scam the Lakers. This really fugged up the Lakers deadline plans. I hope Silver drops the hammer on the Hornets organization.
