The Mark Williams era will not be forgotten

That’s messed up man. Kept the Lakers from being able to get a center.

They should have got one ages ago. Everyone has been yelling since december. AD went on damn national tv. Rob was waiting for miracles like the Luka trade. He continues to suck without connection advantages.

Can even go back 6 months where he should never have gambled on Wood/Hayes in the first place.

I still think AD demanding to play the 4 is a bad idea, but keeping Hayes as the only other big was already GM malpractice.

The Luka deal falling into his lap doesn't change my feelings on Pelinka.

All true, but Hayes has actually been decent, especially as of late

But we needed a C with size, especially vs a guy like Jokic

So now what? Pray that Wood comes back and is useful?

But regardless, not a big guy

Got to look into Biyombo or Theis.

Is this Dwight music lol?

Ont he bright side:

I thought Mark was gona be a great lob threat, but a meh defender

So maybe we can figure things out this summer and get a better fix?

I never loved the trade but things still stand. I thought the point of waiting was because he was unwilling to give up Dalton and the 2 picks. If he was just going to end up trading them for some question mark big he could have packaged it way sooner. Shopping Rui and picks, Dalton and Picks, Both and picks would have gotten anything better than a hospital big.

Could have at least traded for another big like Boucher with Maxi and a 2nd+swap

So now what?

Any decent buyout options for C spot?

Buyout bigs aren't going to be any better than Hayes level, and that's being optimistic.

Yeah but they need the bodies. After Hayes there's no actual proven size on this roster.

Should've known 23yr old talented big men don't just come available :banghead:

You and all the other Laker fans who think Dwight is still viable need to rethink your life choices.

Theis seems like the best option which isn't saying a whole lot.

Last season the Hornets listed Mark Williams as "doubtful" for literal months. I guess this shouldn't come as too much of surprise.

On one hand this allows them to really attack the market this summer; but damn it started to feel like things were lining up for them to do something crazy this year.

wouldn't even be shocked if the failed physical was just buyer's remorse. That was 4 solid assets for Greg Oden mk2

Yeah I mean it was a bad trade, way too much to give up for a dude who has played under 50%, of his games since entering the league, but they’re screwed now at the center position.

Yeah, I'm not terribly upset that the trade fell through, but it sucks they're stuck with no other options at center

Tbh man I have no clue what happened. Both sides took a huge, public, embarrassing L here. I’m sorry it went down like this. Mark is a great kid and it never should have gotten to this point.

They got lucky. Williams isn't ready to be a key piece on the contender. Now they can properly build in the summer

Wish the league would give us a chance to make another deal because of this

Honestly bad faith by CHA, should be punished

Maybe could have probably gotten a guy like Dayron Sharpe for Wood+Cam, 2nd and a 2030 swap

Or Knecht for Sharpe and 2 2nds

In the summer I’m exploring Kessler again, but more realistically someone like Claxton

Possibly Ayton

Can also look to sign a guy like Capela

I think we can waive KIeff and Cam and sign 2 guys

Need to hope a guy like Boucher or Olynyk gets waived or its going to be someone like Theis, Dwight, etc

Then sign a backup SG like Springer, Josh Richardson, etc
