Hayes is a pretty damn good match to Luka on paper…. The only need I saw for a C was on the bench. But I still have no idea how the Luka/Lebron pairing is going to work…. I really don’t think there’s any way to know yet what the roster needs until we see more.
When they first got Luka, I pictured sort of a hybrid Nash/Suns thing with LeBron playing the Hill/Marion role, Reeves-Bell, Rui-Barbosa, and Hayes doing a reasonable take on Amare…

But grabbing boards is another chance for us...no more chances for them. And if we can feed him enough to be a 16-20 point presence on a nightly basis....teams will have to keep honest, and Luka/Lebron will be able to do their thing.

Lebron will be gone this, or next offseason. In the meantime, let's see what kinda group we have. I'd personally not want to sign anyone of significance until Lebron leaves, and we see who we get to pair with Luka. Is it a PF? Is it a new Center, cause this guy didn't work out?......all things we prob wanna know before committing to 3-4 year contracts.

This is why I hope Lebron leaves this offseason. We're building the team after Lebron now....sorry, but we are. And while this will be fun to see the two on the court together for a bit....I don't think it's title-winning stuff. The sooner we bid Lebron adieu, and focus on the build....the better off we'll be.

Both Luka and AD were injured and yet they still got traded.
I’m guessing Doctors found something very concerning about Mark’s MRI.
The guy has missed so many games the past 3 years it’s a bit scary.

Well, you tell yourself that there's 40-50 trades, and FA's moving to different teams a year. There will be a new class of 60 1st and 2nd rounders joining the workforce in July. With no new jobs....just older guys getting the boot. And there were 60 the year before, and the year before that. And there will be another 60 next year.

In other words.....it's a meat grinder. Hop in.....get your millions, and hop out before you get spat out the bottom. It is what it is. To take it personally that you were moved to fill a spot desperately needed by your team, or that some team made a great offer cause they need you to fill that need, is childish.

If Luka or AD can get traded.....Williams and Knecht can get traded. You wanna not get traded???....go be a welder, or wait tables at a restaurant. Make $40-$100k per year...instead of gazillions. And you won't be traded. You'll just get fired.

For those of you that wanted small-ball....here's your wish. Enjoy it. The league is just so god-awful right now....I don't even know, man. Maybe we win it? I mean....how the Pacers (nicely above .500 I might add) can't beat our team in this condition, is beyond me. It's sad, really. But what it does mean is that I could go get 5 or 6 of my old, fat, friends...print some jerseys, and make a run at the playoffs. So who even knows....

in hindsight, they could have gone after Daniel Gafford but at what cost though.
I'm not as concerned about not getting a lob threat but not having a decent post defender/rebounder is a concern.

For sure....we got issues.

Lakers just need to take this as an opportunity now. Play some of those guys a little more. There's no reason to put Lebron out there 38-40 minutes. We just watched AR go for 45....let's run him with Luka...see what we got there. I'd put Knecht out there a ton. Freak his a$$ out....."you better make them 3's or we're shippin ya out again!"

We'll make the playoffs. We'll make the playoffs, because we could lose out...and this league is so crap right now, there wouldn't be enough teams to overtake us. And there's zero chance in hell we're beating the few good teams out there. So give everyone....EVERYONE some good, meaningful minutes with Luka. Let's see who can do what, and get a really good idea of what we have and need this offseason.

I was excited about Williams too but he sounds like a physical train wreck.

Definitely seems that we dodged a bullet.
The more they checked, the more issues they found.

Even a urologist would have probably found a problem with this guy lol.
