Mikal was awful
KAT was awful (he was hurt as well - everyone could see the knee was an issue from the jump)
Hart was awful
Thibs was awful
Precious was awful
McBride was awful

basically everyone outside of Brunson was awful. There is no need to single out any one player.

The issue is that the two guys we gave up all of our assets into have been a complete no show against boston, not only once but twice. I'm not gonna go in on guys like hart, precious, mcbride because our expectations for them are low. Those guys aren't the difference makers against beating a team like Boston.

If our main core guys can't show up against the best team in the league then we're screwed. That's how I look at it.

KAT was compromised tonight...you know it. I know. Its not fair to put that on him.

Mikal sure...awful game. I will admit. He's shouldn't be a primary defending on a Tatum but OG is out so what can you do. He's also been pretty damn good for 2 months now...he threw up a stinker. Sure it sucks its vs BOS but I'm also not just going to ignore his overall impact vs other teams.

I'm not going to overreact to singular players performance (especially when its not even a playoff game).

More Knick fans have turned on Thibs, just look at the likes in your tweets vs these.

I mean I can really post 100 more tweets of KAT and Mikal getting ripped for their defense. And mad fan bases are going in on KAT and Mikal's defense right now too. not just knicks fans. We're a complete joke to everyone around the league. We went all in on mid.

You could post hundreds, they'll be low liked tweets, while the tweets I post are going platinum with Knick fans. Knick fans are turning on Thibs because most of us can see the position he's putting the players in isn't ideal. You just don't like the team, so blaming the coach is a non-starter there, even when he's clearly being out coached.

As it stands we need to drop down to the 4th or 5th to avoid the Celtics in the 2nd round. Cavs probably beat us too but I’d rather them than the Celtics massacring us again.

This team is…shaky, offseason needs to come quick, get rid of Thibs.

I typically agree...but its seems to be a trend vs high pace/high volume 3 pt shooting teams.

Our 3pt defense has been terrible this season, absolutely is concerning no matter who we played.

Will say though that their 3pt defense has been better the last couple weeks when we don’t overplay the 2 big lineups and switch more, but having OG out tonight kinda put us back into that drop coverage defense because we tried to match their size instead of starting small.

Still not sure why Thibs didn’t call a timeout during that run in the 3rd, he’s usually quick with the timeouts to try to break momentum.

Also starting precious and hart vs a team that switches everything and shoots 3's also made no sense. Got us into a hole. It was the Mcrbide lineup that opened up things in the 3rd.

But then Tatum went nuclear and like you said we didn't call a timeout when a 3 pt game went to 19. Bad coaching there.

Yes OG being out hurts a lot of what we want to do. But they are missing Jrue and KP as well...that changes a lot of what they do and Joe M adjusted and thibs didn't.

Talk to me after Mitch is back and running with the Knick engine. He makes everything easier for all players and harder for the opponents to make threes; our biggest weakness.

Our fanbase is always like "let's wait till X player comes back". We've been waiting for X player to come back and get us a chip for 50 years now.

I'm not even mad at KAT. He STUNK! It is what it is. But Thibs sticking with him when he couldn't get off the floor from the tip ("didn't even attempt the jump ball) to the buzzer he was stuck to the floor. Everyone running around, over and through him. Thibs embarrassed him and the organization by letting his All-Star get undressed by a Kornet and Queta.

Yeah, it’s the same old story. This team should be able to adjust even if we’re without key players. The Celtics were missing Porz and Holiday and they stuck to a game plan which worked.

I’m not trying to hear all these excuses. Mitch can’t even depended on when he’s healthy because he’s so fragile. He’ll probably get injured again at some point during the season.

They made 19 threes against us the last time Mitch was starting vs them. He had a 129.8 DRTG against them in 4 games last season.

You have to be able to switch against them, everything else is pointless and leads to a loss. If you play in a drop, you lose.

If this season depends on Mitch, we are pretty much screwed.

Looking at it that way I'll hope for Boston to pass Cavs and Knicks stay third.

Jrue and Kristaps didn’t even play. The Cavs got Hunter. Fans should probably lower their expectation. I’m not even mad.

Maybe hope for a better coach in the offseason, but there’s not much else you can do. I’ve never heard of Queta in my life, but he matched KAT’s performance today because the Celtics are insanely deep. KAT was flailing all game, begging for calls, and the refs weren’t having it. They definitely won’t in the playoffs either.

We only had one season with thibs where we defended the 3 well percentage wise. And Mitch has been around. And if you remember we didn’t actually “defend” the 3. We still gave up wide open shot after wide open shot but that was back in like 2019 and our opponents just missed shots.

Now teams are shooting better across the board and more focused on 3s so they aren’t shooting 33% on wide open looks anymore. Thibs doesn’t understand that. His defense has ALWAYS….ALWAYS focused on packing the paint, prioritizing the paint, and giving up open 3s. That does not work anymore and has not worked for 4 years.

We had a 125.3 DRTG against the Celtics last season with a different roster, the coach is the problem, anything else is noise.
