Re: PG: why are you still watching the Celtics pound the Knicks at MSG?
this is also the 1st year after a massive trade....the roster especially depth needs to be addressed but that wasn't going to be available this offseason. Leon has another offseason to help build that depth.
They are still 34-18. But you don't want to see them continued to get b*tched on national TV.
Tonight KAT being compromised and OG being out really put us in a **** position (Celtics were missing 2 key guys too).
But to continue to be outcoached can't happen especially when we are going up against the better teams.

Re: PG: why are you still watching the Celtics pound the Knicks at MSG?
When Cleveland made the switch from Bickerstaff to Atkinson it unlocked their potential.
Not sure who’s out there, but it’s painfully obvious that Thibs is not the coach that will take this team to championship aspirations. He’s a good regular season coach whose ceiling is strictly a 2nd round team.
Leon has more work to do.

basically everyone outside of Brunson was awful. There is no need to single out any one player.
The issue is that the two guys we gave up all of our assets into have been a complete no show against boston, not only once but twice. I'm not gonna go in on guys like hart, precious, mcbride because our expectations for them are low. Those guys aren't the difference makers against beating a team like Boston.
If our main core guys can't show up against the best team in the league then we're screwed. That's how I look at it.
KAT was compromised tonight...you know it. I know. Its not fair to put that on him.
Mikal sure...awful game. I will admit. He's shouldn't be a primary defending on a Tatum but OG is out so what can you do. He's also been pretty damn good for 2 months now...he threw up a stinker. Sure it sucks its vs BOS but I'm also not just going to ignore his overall impact vs other teams.
I'm not going to overreact to singular players performance (especially when its not even a playoff game).
KAT wasn't even injured. They said it was just soreness. Either way, he's been a cone this entire season. So even if he was hurt tonight, it doesn't make up for his entire season of being awful on defense.
Mikal's defense has been pretty bad this season too. He will go on a 5 game stretch of playing well then he reverts back to being ass. You're saying this is a singular players performance when it actually has been a problem the whole season.

Listen I'm all down for Mitch and OG to return post all star break and win us some games but the fact still remains that this coach has not made any adjustments the entire season. The truth is the team had chemistry issues to start and eventually started gelling with the insane minutes they played together. You take our coach into a 7 game series and doesn't matter if we have OG and Mitch, we ain't winning against elite teams without constant adjustments.

I mean I can really post 100 more tweets of KAT and Mikal getting ripped for their defense. And mad fan bases are going in on KAT and Mikal's defense right now too. not just knicks fans. We're a complete joke to everyone around the league. We went all in on mid.
You could post hundreds, they'll be low liked tweets, while the tweets I post are going platinum with Knick fans. Knick fans are turning on Thibs because most of us can see the position he's putting the players in isn't ideal. You just don't like the team, so blaming the coach is a non-starter there, even when he's clearly being out coached.
Hold up, we ain't even talking about the game. we talking about LIKES.

Of course if a popular Knicks twitter account posts it, it's going to get more likes. That's common sense

Leon has more work to do.
I don’t trust this franchise to do a real thorough search and hire the best guy for the job.
They’ll probably bring back Woodson or hir Marc Jax.
Im totally over this franchise from top to bottom.
Nothing will ever change.
We’re not the lakers or Celtics.
We’ll never be a winning franchise in my lifetime.
I’m completely checked out.
I appreciate every single one of you guys for making watching this rudderless franchise fun.
But now I must bid you ado.
Take care everyone.

Re: PG: why are you still watching the Celtics pound the Knicks at MSG?
We are still 5th in the NBA. Our team is 54 games in and we haven't had Mitch all season. The Celtics, OKC and Cavs have been playing for how many years together?
I have supported the argument that Thibs needs to evolve but some of you refuse to acknowledge- this Knick teams does not have a KEY piece to its engine and -this Knick team has been essentially slapped together. They have played together for....wait for it...
a little over 4 months. Except it. You expect them to beat teams that have been playing high percentage ball over night
-just stop it...you're not being rational...I'll repeat it more more time- those three teams have been playing for years together.
Maybe when Mitch gets back everything will click. However, if it doesn't - I wont say WE SUCK. Nothing was built overnight. Some of you will have to work on your patience or you will stay in misery.

Until OG returns, Hart should come off the bench and we can start Precious next to KAT.
Also, KAT should have sat today. He could not move on either end. It’s malpractice to play him on national TV in that condition. Is Thibs blind or stupid?

They also had 133 last season when we had Mitch.
Yeah, but when we get Mitch back, he'll be able to camp in the paint to stop all those 3s
And then a frontcourt of Hart/KAT/Mitch is literally perfect spacing, I can't see any potential issues there
You also just know we're gonna see Hart/Precious/Mitch minutes at some point.

First, the Celtics struggled for the last month with some horrible losses. Psycho Joe Mazzula is a one trip pony: shoot 40-50 3s. Thibs drop D is the worst defense vs a high 3 team. When Tatum was hot why no double on him? Knicks come flat in over 50% of home games. Thibs should let Jalen dominate first 7 minutes of homengames so they dont fall behind in in 1Q. KAT is a 4. Hukporti should start at the 5 to give knicks better rim protection and more size. hart should move to bench to energize them and add playmaking. Kolek should play 10-15 minutes a game dammit shammit ahould sit. every bench player should play at least 12 minutes kolek huk and padiet shouldnhave been developed into rotation players. read the game Thibs, drop d wont work vs celts thats why u got killed twice. starting huk and moving kat to the 4 would enable your 1-3 players to play tight perimeter d with rim protection behind them. Thibs, u r on the clock. getbur **** together now

That’s a real short sighted and overly simplistic way of looking at things.
The Knicks have a good foundation in place, and they’re all in their prime. The issue is coaching and player mismanagement.
The Cavs foundation is practically the same from a few years ago (minus changes to bench players), but they took the next step because they got a coach that adjusted to their core’s strengths. Now they’re a top 3 team in the league. I remember everyone saying that they couldn’t be successful playing 2 slow defensive bigs that provide 0 spacing in the same lineup. Their ceiling was that of a second round team. But now, they’re considered legit contenders.
This team can be too, but they need a different coach that will make adjustments when needed and not stick to the same old predictable game plans.

They made 19 threes against us the last time Mitch was starting vs them. He had a 129.8 DRTG against them in 4 games last season.
You have to be able to switch against them, everything else is pointless and leads to a loss. If you play in a drop, you lose.
Last year when Mitch was on the court for us, teams took 36.1 3s per100, shooting 40.2%
When he was off, they took 35.4 3s per100, shooting 35.4%.

You must not know how twitter works. If you're popular, you're going to get a bunch of likes regardless if the tweet is good or not. You want a prime example? Look at kanye these past 2 days
There's a bunch of heads on twitter tired of KAT and Mikal's defense. You're just in denial about it and you're trying to deflect to thibs because you don't want to admit that this was a poorly constructed defensive team like me and sham told you it was.
We literally started Deuce in the 2nd half so there wasn't 2 non shooters on the floor and it absolutely did nothing. Instead Tatum went for 40 against Mikal and KAT put up an embarassing effort on defense. You're talking about why we can't score against teams that switch maybe you should ask KAT yourself because that has literally been a massive problem for him most of his career, despite having different coaches.
You can run in circles around this all day but it won't work against me fam
