When Tatum brings that effort on the defensive end, he could be the best player in the NBA. All the skills come out, it’s just about bringing it every day.

Hopefully we can get him to stick around for a while yet (I fear the Knicks will come calling once they fire Thibs)

I don't see NYK firing Thibs. But other teams will come calling for Sam I think.

I feel a lot better about this team after they passed the last two tests on the road vs Cavs and Knicks.

Jayson Tatum with a ‘this is my conference and you will never win it while I’m here’ type of performance. Just got to get Jaylen and Hauser their shots back and we will be good to go.

It’s all about effort. Look at Tatum. Dude was a beast on defense today. Against the Mavs, he barely even tried. That impacts the whole team.

Reckon Daryl Morey will fire Nick Nurse at the end of the season to save his own under siege ass.

Did it?

Memphis arguably got worse.

The Lakers are without a balanced lineup now that Williams trade got reversed.

Nuggets didn’t do anything.

Dallas and GSW got better.

Lakers would have gotten better if Williams was a Laker.

Don't underestimate the Mavs.

Confirms the narrative that the Cs are picking the games they want to win.

OKC??

The kids aren't ready. 8-)

That’s what they said about the warriors on their first finals. Then they went on to become a dynasty. I think we can matchup with them better. I think Dallas can give us more problems. Getting out of that west conf is a battle though.

I think Dallas can beat them. If westbrook is a starter, just sag off on defending Jokic and let Westbrick shoot all day long.

It's been a while since I actually saw Larry David at a Knicks game..

This must have been a big deal (sitting next to Ben Stiller)

Love both guys (Severance is the best show on TV right now) but it was so nice to spoilt their party at MSG lol

Nice win.

Good coaching match up. Tom Thibodeau vs Joe Thibodeau. Brother coaching against brother for the first time since the Van Gundys.

VC to Tatum and Pritchard.

Tatum was great. He had a great shooting night. 40 points on 50% shooting from the field. His 2nd really good game in the last 3 or 4 weeks.

Pritchard was on fire. He was really good all game.

Kornet was fantastic. He was aggressive on the boards, on defense and was dunking everything. 14 and 12 with 3 blocks.

White had a big time 3rd quarter when it counted the most. The Knicks cut it to 5 points and then White went on a one man run.

Queta was really good too, with 11 and 8.

Al was solid with 8 rebounds and good defense.

Brown was brutal on both ends of the floor. The last time Brown played defense was in the NBA Finals. Brunson abused him all night. After this game, Brown's ankle isn't the only thing that's hurt. His ego just went on the injury report. On offensive, he was 5 of 14 from the field, 0-3 from 3 and 4 TO's.

Props to coach Joe for a really well coached game. He just needs to remember the double big works against a slow front court of KAT and Achiuwa, who isn't an outside threat and can't put the ball on the floor.

We aren't a better team without KP, we just play better without him. That was a little sad to say, buy that's been the case this season.

Boston started the season 21-5 without KP and looked great. With KP he are about a .500 team and the team doesn't try with him. I said this a few weeks ago, especially Tatum. Maybe there is too many mouths to feed. I hope this trend doesn't continue. If it does, I wouldn't be surprised if Brad trades him in the off season.

Do we need to let Pritchard run the show more?

No but you let White do.

Tatum and White are clearly the best 2 options, imo. Just thinking in minutes when they’re both off, Pritchard might be next. He’s good off ball, but the last few games he’s been doing really well in the pick and roll. Even in non garbage minutes.

The team plays a lot better when we have a dunker vs. 5 out. Kornet plays the dunker pretty good. He also elevated his screen setting this year

The JB ball hog iso argument is somewhat true as he is constantly looking to pass the ball when driving (look at the great assist to Al in the 1st Q to an open 3) and more times than not players get stuck so he ends up shooting the ball

JT played great. This game also displayed his great ball handling attacking the paint. He should do more like this after ASG, just to remember he has it

KP has been labouring the last couple of games he played. Reckon he could have played tonight but Joe wisely told him to sit it out.

KP's barrage of 27 footers are killing the flow. trouble is he can get them anytime so it's one pass and jack a 3, and you can just see everyone else's energy deflate and they start trying to do the same thing. i don't mind the 3's as long as they are on kickouts etc, like anyone else. run the offense.

might also be the (anti-)Ewing effect where when the team is healthy everyone subconsciously relaxes, thinking they don't have to work as hard.

To all the fans that think Boston struggling in January means they are going to lose in the second round, remember, this is the team that is supposed to bounce the Celtics out of the playoffs in that scenario

Not convinced Dallas got better.

They can preach defence but at the end of the day their backcourt is Klay and Kyrie. You’re not an elite defence with them on the court. Offensively we have 14 years of evidence that Kyrie ain’t a number one option.

Golden State may improve but they’re still short a few players of being a contenders

The 27 footers and in some games he’s been pretty awful with his post shots.

Seems to be forcing it a lot.

I think OKC could beat us and I think they believe it. However, they have to get there first and that is where their youth will hurt them. The West has a lot of dangerous veterans and teams that are better than their records indicate.
"I think the criticism's stupid," Stevens said. "So I don't care. I'm with Jaylen (Brown) on that. Those two had achieved more than most 25 and 26 year olds ever had. I'd rather be in the mix and have my guts ripped out than suck."
