Post#1 » by leswizards » Sat Feb 8, 2025 12:50 am

My first time seeing Johnson in action, and I thought of this clip from Fetch:

I heard he had a late growth spurt in high school which means Dawkins had a near lottery grade on him

Breakdown of AJ in summer league. This guy had AJ at 15 in his mock draft and explains why he fell to 23.

Good postgame interview with AJ. Met with the Zards FO during the pre-draft process. Worked out at same gym as Poole during the summer. So they know each other.

The guy who breaks down Johnson in the other above video believes he would have been a lottery pick if he had gone to Texas rather than Australia.

I really like that the Zards not only traded Kuz but got a young player they were apparently high on. Kudos to Winger & Dawkins.

This cat will be good in a year or two. Add 15 pounds and strength, and he will be able to hang with most players. Fix the J (I think it may be the release) and get the accuracy dialed in over the summer. I am going to enjoy watching him grow and become a very good player for us.

Took a look at his combine numbers. Relative to Bub his height and wingspan are fractionally better. Nice vertical of 38" but very light at 167. Obviously the key for him is to gain strength/weight.

He's a twig for now, but at-least he appears to be quick, and he looks to pass, too-early to tell what may be there...
