Dallas needs to get Dalton Knecht for Dereck Lively in the offseason. We need to fill our DEI hire quota after sending Luka out. LOL

add a couple of 1sts from the Lakers before even posting this nonsense.

There is a need to add a 2037 first round pick here. Our future Mav has a quiz on 3rd grade Math on Monday.

Lively is younger and a better player isn't he?

Yes, but Lively is injury prone and Mavs have too many bigs, I'm sure Rob Lowe can persuade his friend Nico to another coffee job.

Gafford/AD front court has limitations and hreat shooting teams can hurt them, Lively/AD though has sky high potential.

Mavs future is **** up, we know.
I hope LeBron will play 2/3 years more at 40/50M so Lakers can't build a contender around Luka soon.
We don't have much else to route for honestly.

Lively is not injury prone (yet). He is young and had a couple of unlucky injuries. I hope that he will get to know his body better. And lively will hopefully not be traded. he is key

He shouldn't be, but who knows what Nico does, if Suns come with offering KD and wanting Lively among others. He said the future is next few years, I would say KD can bring more in those years than Lively, especially with already having 2 bigs.

Does it really matter giving up Lively at this point?
Unless he turns into the next Embiid (minus the health issues) and Christie turns into the 2nd coming of SGA, we don't have any future after this 2 year window.
Might as well swing for the fences and move Lively for a proven perimeter scorer/playmaker if one comes available.
Lively has been my favorite Mavs since we drafted him, but the future of this team is so gloomy that I'd rather root for him on another team than have him go through another Mavs 90s situation which is right around the corner.

I was thinking the same thing watching that game, but Naji was playing big so at least we have that option if a team gets hot.
I absolutely love AD's game and understand why Nico wanted him, but I just think Kyrie/Gafford/2025 1st/2025 2nd would have been enough to net at least AD...maybe not Christie included though.

That would be the reverse of Dallas' reaction. If Pelinka traded AD without Luka in return, they would riot in LA.

So are you assume that in LA there are real Fakers fans? That's a news for me...

Absolutely, it was a stupid trade.

Re: Dallas Mavericks 2024 Trade thread -- Roster and Cap post 24 FA
Just for the hell of it I was going to post a question about potential packages we could get for Luka before the deadline just to gauge his market value but thought you all would pulverize me for making the suggestion. Kind wish I would have done it now.
So I'll ask it now...what possible packages could we have received for Luka if Nico would have done it the right way?
Like what kind of package could we have gotten from the Pacers?
Or
Could Giannis have been a possibility?

Lebron doesn't deserve to win, but Luka does.

Giannis for sure in the summer, if Bucks don't win this year.
Funny enough, Nico did a big favour to Luka for trading him to LA and don't getting everything he could back.

Orlando could've offered paolo or Franz I would say. Plus picks and players
I am not completely of the board that Milwaukee wouldn't have done Giannis Luka 1-1.
Everything from San Antonio except wemby
I can't do this further. This makes me angry what we could've gotten

For basketball resons, Bucks would say yes instantly, but I'm not sure they'd do it for tje fans, not everyone is a heartless scumbag
Housron package for example:
Jabari Smith
Reed Sheppard
Jalen Green
Cam Whitmore
Suns 25, 27 and 29
Mavs 29 1st back
AD is a better player than this package, but this at least gives you 2 year window to rebuild and have cazy good young core.

AD is soft as yogurt, Lakers will not resign him.
His high value is on the paper. Not on the court.
Someone has to pay for this bull****.
