With the Williams news, do Lakers convince Ben to do a dirty on Clippers and sign with Lakers.

I don't know what difference this will make. A change of scenery can sometimes do players good, but this dude is BROKEN. Simmons hasn't been right since that playoff series where he passed out of an easy basket and cost Philly that game.

Seriously, why does anyone still care about this guy? He’s a scrub.

Andrew Wiggins was a scrub, now he's an NBA champion who is the best asset in a trade for an All-Star player and playoff riser.

Not saying Simmons will be that but anything can happen.

Lol this. 100% young socialite move.

Does the LA social scene have a caste system in place when it comes to the social hierarchy of Lakers players vs. Clippers players?

I’d imagine it’s Lakers, Dodgers, Clippers, Kings? Ben Simmons still has to work his way up the socialite ladder

He can still defend, but being on a terrible team pulls your numbers down. I think he is a good fit. Clippers desperately need another ball handler. That along with his defense will help them.

For now. The fact is that, when all are playing at their peaks, Simmons is better than Zubac and Bogi is better than Norm. If Ben and Bogi cannot get it together, they stay on the bench or get waived. If they do get it together, both will start eventually.

Where are you coming up with this from? Lol

Simmons has a zero percent change of starting over Zubac.

Norm and Bogi have played similar roles for most of their careers. Since 19-20, Norm has put up 18/3/2 on 48/42 (62% TS) and Bogi has put up 15/3/3 on 44/38 (57.2% TS).

Norm is the higher volume and more efficient scorer, anyway has his fitb in the starting lineup and next to Harden, it's not changing, chemistry is a thing too.

Bogi was brought in to be a bench scorer. He obviously won't get waived with another year and $16M left.

Simmons was brought in to be a versatile slot in option off the bench, mainly a small ball C. He doesn't have Zubac's size or rim protection. What stupid coach would replace the C anchoring his top 5 defense mid season

Come on, stop it.

I am going to continue to believe that Ben will become the player he used to be. That’s my choice. He has zero injuries and did not all of a sudden get smaller or less athletic. If he gets back to his former self, he will start. Not immediately, but Harden has a way of making players better. Zubac can’t defend the perimeter, so against certain teams, he is a major liability. Ben can guard 1-5 at elite levels. Again, not saying this will happen immediately, but it is definitely possible as Ben is simply more talented than Zu. I don’t see Ben as a backup PG and he can’t shoot so no way both Zu and Ben are on the court together.

As for Norm, the guy is a bench player and has been his whole career. There is a reason for that. He only contributes offense. Bogi is slumping too, but if he breaks out of it, he will start over Norm as his BBIQ is way higher. Again, it’s not going to happen immediately but there is no question that Bogi is a better all-round player. Plus, the bench desperately needs Norms offense.

Let me believe these new additions are going to make a difference. Once they play, we will know more, but today is a good day.

aside from scoring, his numbers actually don't look bad- nearly 7 assists a game in 25 minutes

People don’t watch the Nets

Simmons is not the player that he used to be but he’s light years better than some would have you believe

The Bucks actually traded for Kuzma and he’s not in the same stratosphere as ‘25 Simmons

Ben for the minimum is a steal, nothing more to say other than that

This is one occasion where you gotta hand some credit to the league, without the apron rules he's Laker bound for sure

Some 3 years ago Ben Simmons said he wants to avoid playing for Trail Blazers or Raptors due to “being the young socialite that he is”. That's what this move is. Ben Simmons is not serious basketball player. He just wants to live in LA.

I think he's going to be a bigger pickup than anticipated after hearing Lue agree with what I mentioned when the news first broke. He's not expected to score. He's expected to rebound, push the break, defend and find the right guys with his passes. If that's the expectation as the bench playmaker he's going to thrive big time IMO.

So you take the ball out of Harden's hands and give it to Ben? And this is going to work somehow?
I don't get Clippers, they have a talent for destroying themselves.
